I’ve been grabbing a lunch/dinner box special at Vipul’s Kitchen for long enough to remember it used to be $6.99, and it blew my mind just a few years ago that you could still get a meal that good for under $7. It’s now $8.99 but still super competitively priced considering inflation. It’s inside the Desi Brothers Farmer’s Market near Mopac & Parmer Lane.

You pick two items from the hot bar, today I got Paneer Afghani and fried okra. They add rice, roti and a small desert snack. Freaking delicious. Maybe the lowest priced meal deal I ever see, at least for that quality level.

They make decent curries for sure! Can’t beat the price. Also check out the veg and paneer puffs and dhokla. They are pretty good!

The lunch box at Big Bazaar is good too, it’s also 8.99$

  5. Yes I remember when they started it for $6.99 or $5.99 -relished like crazy. Don’t buy as much now that they’ve raised prices but still good deal imo.

If it’s not being make by a man sitting crisscross applesauce next to a pan of frying oil as he slop ingredients from various bucket in arms reach while surrounded by rats in a cubby, that’s a pass for me. I need the authentic.
