38:42 NEXT WEEK: Abandoned Spain – Season 2

– Welcome back everybody,
on a brand new video! As you can see, we are
standing here in Belgium – Right in front of this huge manor. – A beautiful manor house. With even still a car just parked here in the middle of nature. And today we’re stepping inside this manor to explore a place where
time has stood still. From decaying medical
books to a forgotten attic filled with antique equipment
and museum pieces. But the past doesn’t just live inside. It starts right here in
the wild embrace of the garden. A Skoda Felicia. – Yep, a typical European car. – You can even see that people
already spray-painted the car. – Unfortunately. Let’s see… Oh, well, I wanted to open the door but I’m not gonna do that. – Holy cow! – That’s unique. – You’re right. The spiderwebs are still completely intact. – Have you ever seen it like that? – This is very well preserved. And you can even see moss over here on the outlines of the window. – Oh! And you can tell that the
front window is smashed. – Unfortunately, it seems
inevitable when a place gets known. And that’s actually what’s
happening with this place at this very moment. It’s getting shared. People are stealing. We are, I think, just right in time. Because I think in one week a lot of items in this beautiful manorhouse
are gonna be looted. – True, true. Here was the front door, the main entrance. – The mossy stairs. – Yeah. As you can tell, it’s barricaded. Still, a nice entrance. – They also had a… pretty big garden. – And… This is very nice. I like this. – Wow! – What is this called, actually? A terrace? – This is a porch. – A porch, right? Yeah. – An outside porch. But in the summers and
springs, they would have wonderful… breakfasts and dinners here. It used to be a very cozy place at once. – And I think over here
used to be some ornaments. But right now… – Yeah. – It’s empty. – I think there also used to be
a little porch right here. – Yep. – And the entrance is
actually quite straightforward. – Let’s go in. Okay, we come inside… this dark basement. – Oh, yeah. It’s definitely quite dark
in here, as you can tell. – So, we actually have two ways to go. – Over here… – Holy! A massive water tank. – Yeah. – And another one right next to it. – Oh, what is this? What is it called? – This is a press. – A press, right? – Yeah. – Two of them, and they are
actually, really antique. I believe this one is even
older than the other one. – Yeah, yeah. – This is even part of a
toy or something of a child. – Oh, yeah, it’s Buzz Lightyear. – Right? – Yeah. – Very decrepit, but… – You can see it through the… – What’s left of it. – What’s left of it, yeah. – All right. Let’s continue our way. What do we have in here? – Wow! Look at this drum! A wooden African drum. – Oh, look over here, Mo. Some… Pictures. And who is it? “Portrait du Duque de Albert, Antonio Mon…” – The Duke of Alva. – Yeah. – This is from the 15th-16th
century that this person lived. So, I think that these people
were definitely interested in art. And that passion will soon become evident
when you see the next floors. But before we climb the stairs… there is still more to uncover down here. Like this old envelope. Could it be hiding more forgotten prints? – Oh, yeah! There are more. And it’s all from the same… Well, not the same person, but… – Same collection. – Same collection, yes. – Look at all the jars. Is that even a car mirror or something? – Yeah, it is. There is even a tire over there, I mean… – Haha, wow! This was definitely storage
for wine and food products. – Yep. – The next room is gonna blow you away. – Yeah, this is really awesome. It’s unbelievable. And the stuff that is left… As well, man. – Holy cow! We’ve got an entire… library over here in this basement. And as Remon said, it’s all very moldy. But the historic value… of some of these items is significant. – Oh, yeah, for sure. – Old cameras. “Gaumont” from Paris. Old books. Diagnostics. This might be a firefighter’s helmet. – It is. You can see the metal on there. – Look at these books: pathology. – It’s all… – “Dermatology”, they are medical books. An intriguing clue that fits neatly into the
bigger picture we’ll reveal later upstairs. Another camera. – Very moldy. – Whoa, this is impressive. Encyclopedias. We even have old dias over here. Still, containing memories. Oh, their binoculars are still inside there. But it’s completely moldy and decrepit. I’m not even gonna touch it. And take note of the
sign saying: “AC Alfred”. Something we’ll come
back to later in this video. A radio. Unbelievable, what’s all still… left between all this,
yeah, decay, basically. – Yeah, I mean… – Everything is decaying. Whoa! We’ve got more antique cameras on top. – But they are all, like…
even destroyed some and just full of rust. – They’ve been very damaged. Obviously, by the humid
conditions down here. – Haha, old ornaments, decorations… – A coffee grinder. A jug right there. I think it’s from Germany. And also, all these porcelain… knick-knacks right over here. – Mhm. – That used to be even a case of a camera. – And watch your step, man. – Yeah, well, I can slip out. – You can slip out. – Haha, that’s true. – That’s why I said it. – Marbles on the ground. – An old phone. – Wow, this is crazy. – A proper antique, man. – I think it’s a military
phone or something. – Yeah, yeah, yeah. – There’s also… What is it, a helmet? – Or is it a ranger cap? – It’s crazy. – Making our way up into
the property, I would say. – Yeah, as we’ve explored
the entire basement right now. So, we’re now gonna make our way to
the residential annexes of the home. – All right. Well… We made it to the main area. And as you can tell… I think you’re currently
filming the hallway. But we have a kitchen over here. – And this part is
actually really interesting. Not because of what’s left behind. But it learns us more of
what happened to this property in its very last days. You can clearly see a more modern interior
compared to what you’re about to see. Meaning that they did have the ambitions
and plans to renovate this property. I mean, also, if you look
at the frames of the doors. Now, right here, it also learns us that they most likely used to
have a dog running around. And this is another room
that’s just completely empty… but still quite modern. – Yeah, yeah. So… Remon told you about the hallway. Which is actually on the left-hand side. – Exactly. And then there is one other part,
which is right over here. And here you can tell the decay. And I would also tell, maybe a reason to
just discontinue this complete project. Because if I’m stepping
right over here, then… – Oh! The floor is caved. – We have to be very careful, man. – You’ll fall down into the basement. – Oh, yeah, for sure. – Well, you can clearly see the structural
damage over here on the ceiling. But also still one of the grand features. Like, all these shelves
probably used to be for books. – Yep. So, this was probably, like, an office. A library. – I mean, you can tell that these
were probably the old books. This is where all the more
modernized books were. For example, the ones that we see over here in the boxes. – Yeah, more modern encyclopedias. And then over here,
a marble fireplace mantle. Still, a few ornaments on top of it. – Yeah. And also, books for the children. – So, this really tells us more about
the people that used to live here. Probably, it was just taken over by the family. They inherited the property… and eventually discontinued the project. Maybe due to the fact
that it’s such a huge property. – But the real reason this
place was abandoned turns out to be something
far more unsettling. We’ll get to that later. You can still see a lot of the
original features of this old home. – Oh, yeah, for sure. – Oh! Look at the ceiling. All these spots of black mold. Now, let’s continue to… this hallway that’s completely
cluttered with cardboard boxes. And that’s what Remon tells. Like: were they trying to move things out? Most likely, but… – Oh, yeah, that’s one thing for sure. – Why did they discontinue? I mean, it’s stored right here. Just waiting to be
transported to the outside world through the front door which is right here. A wonderful and a big
chandelier right above us. Still, a bicycle right in the front. – Yeah. – Another chandelier. Oh… look at this! – Yeah, this is quite cool, right? – It’s so cute. – It’s like a small store, I would say. – Yeah, it’s a small store, like… – Oh, no, it’s a pharmacy. – A pharmacy, yeah. – Look, there’s, on the right corner… You can probably see it on camera. It says: “Diplome en Pharmacie”. – And please note that
on this tiny diploma… Alfred’s name appears once more. A subtle but telling trace
pointing to his medical past. There are so many details. Also, the poison tags on the bottles. And even some glasses
that they used to sell. – Mhm. And we find a date over here. And you will not believe the date. – Tell me, bro. – What do you think? – What do I think? Well, my estimation was that this place
has to be abandoned for at least 5 years. What’s the truth? – Yeah, you’re right, you’re right. It’s definitely abandoned
for at least 5 years. It says: “2016”. So, yeah, all right. 8 years from now, yeah. – That would be realistic. But still, it goes quicker than
many people sometimes expect. And I think that’s, like, what
we’re gonna see in the next room. – Oh, yeah, yeah,
yeah, for sure, for sure. – In the living room. – And this is where the
interesting parts come in. Because, wow!
This is how it used to be. Besides the decay, of course. – Whoa! Holy cow! I was just speaking
about details and about… decay. Have a look at this, guys! That is serious structural
damage that occurred to this property. – You already said it before:
this is a ticking time bomb. And, yeah, it truly is. It truly is. It’s only a matter of time
and weather conditions. – Unbelievable. A matter of time, weather conditions… And the details… They are gonna be looted very quickly. Seriously, look at all these items. This is something oriental. I’ve never seen it before. Religious statues. And wonderful ornaments. And even plates on the ceiling. The furniture is amazing. Such intricate carvework. – Should there still be…? Oh, yeah. – There are a lot of old
things also inside here. Like this plate with
the person, “Victor Hugo”. – Haha, an old cigar box. – Troya. The sad thing is: as a matter of fact… Remon was not with me,
but I was here 3 days ago on this little sideboard right over
here, used to be 3 very vintage… maybe even antique cameras. This is what it looks like right now with only the porcelainware
still standing here. The cameras are already gone. – Yep. – Where you can see a painting
right now used to be a lot of guitars. They are still here, but
they have been replaced to the sofa. – A very strange location, I would say. And these… They need some work. But they can be fixed. – And if you remember it right… we had this other kind of secondary porch. That’s right here. So, you have a little bit of an idea of
where we are right now on the property. – Yep. And right over here,
besides some books on the floor… we have this beautiful old camera. – Wow…! Still, on the tripod. Okay. Wow, the paintings, the antiques… Wow! Just the details. – Yeah, really beautiful details. Christmas wrapping paper, yeah. – And then, we have another
marble fireplace, very stately. Now, look at these ornaments! There must have been a clock inside here. – Yep. And we have a model ship over here. – And we are gonna find
more of that in a bit. So, definitely stay around
if you wannna see that. Also, this very old book:
“Les Entrailles de La Terre”. – What is it about? War? Because I see, like, a bomb explosion. I think it is rather about clouds,
smoke, and maybe some physics. It is an interesting book, though. –Yeah, an interesting cover as well. – It once all used to be beautiful moldings… handcrafted. And now they are just… – Now, they are just on the floor, man. But, yeah, you can tell
there is a radio inside. Small busts. Actually, it is to hold the books. It is quite fascinating. – That’s so cool, but that must have
been placed here afterward because you can see the collapsed parts
lying all underneath it. Oh! You can also see some signs of dry rot. That is probably the reason… why this has all been so terribly decaying. In a bit, you will see where
that damage is coming from. But let’s stay cautious because… If this falls on your head… it is a ticking time bomb. We can hurt ourselves pretty badly. – This is really fascinating. – “Government of Dubai”. – Yeah. – Post Office of Dubai. A philatelic letter for Gulf Summit
Commemorative Stamps dating 1966. Addressed to a man thousands of miles away. It turns out that the man who lived here
wasn’t just someone in the medical field. He was also a stamp collector. Fascinated by international affairs. – So, his name is… It was a doctor. That is one thing for sure. I mean, all the books. Well, and his name was Dumoulin. – That’s his last name. – Yeah, it’s his last name, true. – It is Dr. Dumoulin. – Yeah, Dr. Dumoulin. It says an “A”, so, I don’t know
what his first name was, so… – Okay. But we know by now, his name was Alfred. And those two small initials, A.C… we found earlier on a
forgotten plaque in the basement… suddenly carry weight. In French medical terms, AC
can mean Assistant en Chirurgie. A surgical assistant. Or Ancien Chirurgien. A title often used by
respected retired surgeons. Given the age of the documents
and the prestige that surrounds this place… It is far more likely that he
was an Ancien Chirurgien… a former surgeon. A man who once held a scalpel. And now, only dust and memory remain. – What is this thing that
you’re seeing over here? And you probably think:
“Ah, it’s just a plate.” But no, it’s actually… one of the four that was in the corners. – Wow! – Right over there… – This was one of those ceiling plates. – Exactly. A beautiful painting over here. It’s almost as if we’re in
a chateau right now. These are items you usually only find… in chateaus and very stately properties. – Oh, yeah, yeah, for sure. I mean, the man must have… built up some wealth and fancy… the art and the ornaments…
oriental, worldwide ornaments. – Surely. It was not just the wealth. Like you mention, he was an art lover. – Yeah. – And so was his wife, probably. And they really tried decorating this place… according to their taste… but also according to their experiences. Because I feel like many things
also come from their travels. – Oh, true, true. – And given that we’re gonna
find so many model ships… He might have been a sailor as well. Or maybe a nautic background
from his great-grandparents. – Or really fancied it. There’s even a crab. – Well, there is one
thing which is really cool. And a very cool detail,
talking about being a doctor… – Aha! – And this was actually… – A surgeon. – No, it’s a case. Look. – For a bottle. – Yes. – Whoa! – That’s also some eye for details, man. – Holy cow! That is cool. And look over here behind you. It’s actually one of these
concave corner cabinets. – Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Wait, let me check. Oh. – Whoa! More doctor’s items. We have some… – Are these steroids? – It’s actually natrium chloride. Look, he was also very
interested in science. – Haha, look. – Oh, an axe. – That’s a strange position
for an axe, but… – This is also interesting. I think these people
really traveled the world. – I really question myself always, like… in these wealthy properties
that you find many oriental items. Is it like they traveled
there or was the business…? – Oriental items are
often a sign of wealth. – Yeah, true. – Regarded like that,
and also high in value. – Yeah. – But in this case, I really
feel like it was not just a taste. I think they also really traveled here. – Yeah. – Maybe they even sailed the
world, man, like, all these ships. We’re gonna find a lot more of them. I cannot wait to find it out. So, let’s just go to the next floor. – Yep. Making our way upstairs to the next floor. And… First of all, let’s take a look at the staircase, how it’s built. – Wonderful, right? – Yeah. – Over here, another elevation. Another tiny part for
storage with more books. – And then, let’s walk into the first room. – Another elevation again, by the way. – Yeah. And here comes our conclusion… that they had children. – Oh, yeah. In particular, I think a girl
with all the pink-painted walls. And all the toys right here. So many! Unbelievable. This is sad. It was all once from a little girl. A bunny and Easter eggs. – Left here… and some
toy monkeys over there. There are children in this world…
that wish they had access to such toys. – True. – Some rather vintage toys right here. And you are reading out an
envelope which says the name. – Yeah, and it says… This is for the woman… But it also just says: “J. Dumoulin”, so… the name. – Okay “A.” and “J.” – “A” and “J”. – Now, look as Remon was walking down… How crazily everything has been built. – Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that’s why I said, like… Oh, this is just a toilet. – Hmm… – The floor is also in
bad condition right here. – Yeah, we need to be careful. And then, we go down again. And we go… Oh! Hahaha! – Oh my gosh! – I’m good, I’m good. – Haha, that was perfectly
captured on camera. – That was perfect on camera. We will not add this to the bloopers. We will just add this in the video. – Absolutely, just raw uncut. – Okay. – Always be careful. – Always be careful. If it’s not a hole in the ground, then… – Never careful enough. – Yeah. – Well, I see more envelopes over here. So, while you maybe take a peek at them. I’ll show these other oriental
kind of figurines right here. Look at this head. That’s scary. Guys, be honest… that’s strange, right? Over here we even have
some fake money, like… I feel like this might have been one of the
master bedrooms at some point. There are still even some Halloween decorations. Right at this vanity. Meanwhile… Well, what have you seen so far? – I have the name of the man. That one I have, luckily. – Dr. A. was Doctor… – …Alfred. – Oh! I’ve seen that actually in the basement. – Yeah. – Dr. Alfred. – Yep, Dr. Alfred, and… – That’s a wonderful name. – Yeah, everybody called
him either “Monsieur”… You know, like, Mr. or just Dr. – Rather formal, you know, for his title. – Yeah, yeah, there was only one person
who dared to say his first name. – Now, you can see over here
the crumbled parts and debris… have actually been broomed up
because they collapsed from that corner. So, that is a little bit strange. But maybe it’s done by photographers. There’s nothing in this
wardrobe anymore either. – Okay, then, walk to the left. We have another bed located
in the middle of the room. – Well, this was a very old mattress. Given that it’s still
stuffed with this straw. – Pff.
Damn, man, this location is… – Seriously decayed. – Seriously decayed. All right, you can walk up there. – Look at this fungi. Also, wearing facial protection for all this mold and fungi. Because maybe a one-time
exposure would not be very harmful. But, like, we do this on a
weekly basis sometimes. – Yeah, for me, I have
the microphone located. So, I am very sorry, but it’s just
to give you the best audio possible. And since it’s quite cold outside… I need to keep on wearing my jacket. – This is probably the master bathroom. – Yep, it was. Also, in the corner some bad leakage. – Look at these mushrooms! This part of the home has the worst mold. – Oh, yeah, yeah. – The next room is gonna be another level. – Yeah, this is worse, like… – Look at that. It’s all coming from… probably, roof leakage. – Yeah, one spot of roof leakage. And it just keeps on
dripping, keeps on going. – There are holes over there. And that’s exactly the point where the structural damage of
the structure was in the living room. There is a room attached… to this one. – But it’s covered with black mold. Maybe…? – I’ll just show it. – Yeah. – Better be careful. As you can tell… There is a major presence
of black mold right here. We do still have this book
about science and voyages. Again, science. Wow, look at these! All these religious ornaments. And we do have a first picture. It might be his wife, J. The very last part… And this is really gonna be like a museum. – Oh, yeah, yeah, for sure. This is the last part. And this is what is so
surprising about this place. Since, yeah, these rooms were quite empty. The basement was unique. The living room was very unique. And then, we have an attic area. And this will blow your mind. Like, everything here is still preserved. And this was from the doctor himself. This is really, really unique. – Wow! Guys, there are going to be
a lot of antique treasures here. – It’s so well preserved as well. – Even the Rooster of Barcelos. A very famous sign of Portugal. Look at this. And if he was interested in science. – Oh, yeah, for sure. A tennis racket. And there we have our
first reference to the ships. – And look on top, a lot of microscopes! – Yeah, and if he loved science… – Wow! They’re all perfectly standing
next to each other there. – Yeah, they’re beautifully
located next to each other. – Fascinating. Records. Still also, the vinyl right here
on top of the record player. You used to be able to
close this just like a box. I’m not gonna touch it anymore. Because I think it’s gonna break. – What should be in there? – I think some files, mostly. – More records as well. Oh, what is this? – Another camera. – Whoa, it’s heavy. – Yep, that’s another camera, bro. Whoa! – A very unique piece. – Truly. To imagine how technology has evolved. – Yeah. The thing that you’re filming with
right now, compared to these ones that are standing right over here. – Whoa! There are even more. Look at that, guys! And they are not even in a
too bad shape, to be honest. – No. I mean this one still looks… proper good. – Brown Junior, Brown Junior. These are probably boats for the children. They look a little bit more childish. – Yeah. – And even more… very old volumes and books. Over here, the case with still test tubes and other materials. – Yeah, yeah. – It’s crazy, right? – Yeah, it’s been my, uh… – Whoa! Look, another camera. Guys, as a matter of fact… I’m not sure if many people know this… But Remon actually used to work in a lab. – Yeah, yeah, yeah. I used to work in laboratory. So, I used to work with these things a lot. Of course, way more professional ones. I used to work in a lab
where we did bio-technological… and microbiology testing. And what I am questioning
myself is: what is this? What was it? It’s also a microscope, I think. Oh yeah, it was: here. Yeah, it was. – A wonderful antique. There used to be a compass inside here. – Yeah. – Also, a military one I assume. – Maybe it’s this one. A part of it. Or what is it at least? – Look. Wow! – Is it a barometer? – No, it’s not a barometer. Do you think so? Maybe, well, it says the temperature. – So, here it is. Wow, what a piece, man. – Crazy, right? And this used to be an old photo album. But there are still a few pictures
in there of family ancestors. There is another one behind here. – Wow! – From babies. – Yeah, as you can tell,
many more children over here. – Wow…! It’s all just left to rot. – Yeah. – In this attic. Let’s see if the first pages
still have something. – Some bigger pieces. – Yeah, only the baby. – Is there a date on it, do you think? – No… – One can rightly ask how someone
could ever walk away from all of this. From rooms filled with rare
collectibles, scientific relics… and deeply personal treasures. The kind of things museums fight to preserve. But as it turns out, this
late 19th-century manor… wasn’t simply forgotten. A neighbor told us later the owner’s daughter
was the last to live here. She had hopes of restoring the property… of bringing it back to life. But over time, something changed. Not in the walls, but in the
feeling the place gave her. She began to speak of an
atmosphere that weighed heavy. Of moments she couldn’t explain. As if the house resisted her
presence and was cursed. She decided to leave… moving just a mile down the road
to a newly built apartment. But what stands out… is that she never came back. Not even once. There is something
magical, yet, bittersweet about walking through the
museum of someone’s past life. A place where time gave up… but memory didn’t. Now last… but definitely not least. We have a little room there. But that’s not the one
where we’re gonna end. Because this room is really like a museum. Look at this, guys! – This was his own private museum. – That’s definitely how you can name it. Because it has a freaking
glass case for even more ships. A French flag. All these ships. It’s crazy, man, the little lanterns. It’s unbelievable
what a collection is left behind here. – Yeah, for real. – I’m not sure if the
ships are worth a lot. I assume some of them definitely are. – Well, as far as I know, model ships
are definitely worth some money… but it really depends on the details and… – Well, some of them
are extremely detailed. – I mean the one in the glass. – That’s what
I’m talking about, with all the ropes. – It’s broken on top. I think definitely just
due to natural decay. Don’t you think so?
Right over there. – Yeah. – But it’s… I really like how the dust is just not coming through. – More flags inside here as well. All different flags. And I think that these flags
all used to be on a ship. So, I’m quite sure… that he also was a sailor man. – Mhm. – But probably in his leisure time,
his biggest hobby. And this is just empty. – Yeah, what always just intrigues me, is this. – What? – This one. – In the bottle. – In the bottle. How do you make something like that? – Interesting, right? – Yeah, it really is. – Well… That brings us to… the final moment of… this exploration. A really special place of a doctor: Alfred… with probably a big passion for sailing. Who had a wife with the first letter J. They had children. They tried to renovate this property. It’s been abandoned since about 2016
according to documents we found. That’s a little summation
of what we all found about this place today and we really
hope you enjoyed it. – Yeah, yeah, it was, as I said,
it was a unique place. Especially, finding these rooms here. Like, you can really tell that the man really fancied… Yeah, in his leisure time if he had hobbies, he went all-in on them. And I think that’s the most fascinating part. He picked them very particularly. And as you can tell… He spent his time and his money
on beautiful pieces. – But most importantly: his experiences. – Exactly, exactly. Same as we do. So, yeah, I do think that’s a
beautiful phrase to wrap this up. And if you liked it as much
as we did you know the drill: Like, subscribe and comment right down below. Ring the bell notification right up there. And then,
we will see you on the next adventure. – On the next experience. – Peace out! – Peace. It’s been 4 long years… but next week, we’re finally back with
a brand new season of Abandoned Spain. The stories are deeper. The places more haunting than ever. You can watch the Trailer right now. Don’t miss out. “¡Y hasta pronto!”

  4. Дворянская чаровница
    .

  5. Such a beautifull house. Pity that it has been left to nature. Thank you for sharing his video.😢👍🙏💪💗

  6. Hey Maureno, Explomo, that was a really absolutely fascinating explore, you were doing together with Remon in that once very beautiful Belgian manor house. Despite of heavy decay traces due to water damage, there are still a lot of beautiful details, like the ornate ceilings with these colour medallion plates and beautifully carved furniture visible. A lot of interesting items like the musical instruments and that truly unique collection of model ships, were so amazing to see, especially in the attic. But there also the collections of microscopes and photocameras were very surprising and interesting. – I absolutely loved following you in mind through the rooms of this abandoned mansion of the former owner, who apparently was a surgeon and a true art lover. – Also was it fascinating to see these decorative oriental items, because these former owners loved to travel a lot all over the world. I once have also seen these "scary" puppets in a place in Indonesia used in a puppet theatre performance.
Very interesting explore in that house, which turned out to be a legit treasure chest with a probably sinister or spooky atmosphere, as the surgeons daughter seemed to have felt there, why she never wished to return to this mansion again. Was it really cursed? Who knows?!
Wishing you all the best, take care, bro, peace and kindest regards.

  7. I would love that miniature pharmacy so much, what a shame all these lovely things going to rot when people out there would love and cherish them just like the late owner did. So sad 😢 I would have liked to know him he obviously had an eye for beautiful things.
