Ah, pasta — a delicious meal that comes in all shapes and sizes, and which can serve as a vessel for all kinds of sauce and toppings.
But which pasta dish rules them all in the Keystone State?
Well, according to a new report from Inspired Taste, based on the survey answers from over 1,000 people, that honor goes to stuffed shells. This dish — for those who have yet had the pleasure of consuming it — involves shell pasta stuffed with ricotta cheese (and sometimes even meat) topped with a tomato sauce.
Indeed, Pennsylvania was one of just six states total that preferred stuffed shells over any other type of pasta recipe out there. The number one dish nationwide, however — as coming in as the number one favorite in a whopping total of 19 states — was fettuccine Alfredo.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, fettuccine Alfredo is a pasta dish composed of butter, Parmesan cheese, a creamy white sauce, various seasonings and, of course, fettuccine pasta. In other words, no wonder this was a national favorite.
Other states such as Texas preferred a classic spaghetti and meatballs dish while Georgia was the only one to have mac n’ cheese as their number one favorite pasta recipe.
