    Growing up, I remember my Mom *always* bought cake mixes in boxes. When I became an adult and started baking more, I found it’s really not that difficult to achieve the same results from scratch. That being said, I’m both intrigued and repulsed by ‘Mystery Cake’…..

    I know that last recipe as Mayonnaise cake. I’ve never used Miracle Whip, only Best Foods/Hellmann’s. It’s actually very good cake.

    There was a tomato soup cake recipe that was making the rounds in my town in 1970. It was very much like the one shown here, but with the addition of melted chocolate. I never tried it myself, but everyone I knew back then was raving about it.
