Why does Carl’s JR. get no love?

It does from me! The Super Star, the Famous Star, the California Classic, the Double Jalapeno, and every once in a blue moon: The Double Western. All of these sit very high on my list of craveable burgers.

  2. OriginalOrdinary1241

I love carls jr! They are my favorite fast food burger of all time

  3. Sk8rboyyyy

Carl’s/Hardees is bomb! Closest one is 25 minutes away, I’m going to make it out there this week. Love will be shown. Their breakfast is fire too.

  4. airon0828

Western bacon cheeseburger is a core memory from my childhood

  5. Firebird22x

They’re only in 16 states, so it’s a bit hard for most of the country.

But, if you throw in Hardees it’s 33 more, with 4 overlap, so 45 in total.

At least for me, they’ve never been in any state I’ve lived in or go to frequently (NJ, RI, CT, MA)

Back in the $6 burger days, I used to enjoy their different offerings: Restaurant Burger, Guacamole Burger, and that Teriyaki Burger with the ring of pineapple— good times!!!

  7. eugoogilizer

I’ve posted a few times on here about it; it’s my fav fast food place ❤️

Hot take…I even like it better than In-N-Out 😦

  8. MouthOfMahem

Love CsJ, don’t love the 14 hours I have to wait in the drive thru every time. Their breakfast is fucking stellar.

  9. Suitable_Ad6848

I have only ever had one burger from them and it was dry as hell with no flavor. Never went back and this was like 17 years ago.

  10. From what it used to be, to what it is… I miss the old Carl’s, before the dry ass shit they serve now

  11. pipehonker

Because their $6 burgers cost $10 now, and are half as good as they used to be.

  12. DirteeMouth

They got expensive af .. i nearly paid $20 for a value meal!

  13. dumbledwarves

We have Hardee’s over here. They make the only fast food burger I like.

  14. SeasonElectrical3173

Yeah I mean these days the fast food burgers are just as expensive as a real one you can buy from a food cart or a restaurant, so I just buy them there now. Shake Shack actually has a pretty damn good burger, ngl. But yeah, I mean it’s expensive though.

  15. Complete_Entry

I miss carls, it was just out of walking distance from my apartment so I rarely went.

Now I’m on the wrong coast and there are zero carl’s.

Gotta wait for the franchise wars I guess.

I grew up loving Carl’s Jr, but the last few times I’ve been the quality has seriously fallen off.

  17. Curlystiks86

I really enjoy the char broiled burger! There was one next to my place but it recently shut down. I didn’t go but twice but im still sad that I can’t ever

  18. They used to be SO good. They were pretty good 25 years ago (lol) with their Ross beef and fried chicken and the OG Monster burger. Then they dropped the Thickburgers in like 2001 and revamped their entire menu and it was so damn good. All the meat was cooked fresh instead of frozen (still shipped frozen) with “black angus burgers” and those little Slammers they had were pretty good too!

Then over time they just started slipping. The last few years the most probably. Many times I’d go there and I could tell the burgers were smaller and lesser quality to the point they looked like the most processed meat and were half the size of the original 1/3 pound burger while still calling them 1/3 burgers. Finally they dropped the 1/3 pound label. 90% of Hardee’s I’ve seen have closed now.

  19. gowhoastop

The one thing that keeps me going to Carl’s Jr is the fried zucchini. Absolute perfection.

  20. Gettingolderalready

    Because it’s 18$ for a regular combo

    Fuck carls

  21. Dangerous_Ad_6101

I had a Carl’s Jr. for the first time in almost 10 years. Super Star. Fantastic! Tastier than I remembered.

  22. CharacterReaction651

Idk man.. For me it’s a quintessential fast food burger. It tastes cheap but has an expensive price tag. If you live near one and don’t have the options, I could see it. But if I’m goin back home to visit I’m choosing InO 100 times out of 100.

  23. Because Carl slap the brown hair out of Wendy and turned her into a red head when they were dating. Even flicked some pepper into her face that stuck so she got permanent freckles

  24. 401kcrypto

It’s not smashed into oblivion, so the people don’t like it.

  25. Gracinhas

Not a fan, personally. I don’t like the forced flame broiled flavor. It reminds me of Burger King (though I prefer it to Burger King). I’d just rather go to other fast food burger stops like In N Out and Wendy’s.

  26. duckwaltz0

Fast food burgers, while tasty, are the lowest of low hanging fruit. Looks like every other piece of shit burger from a drive thru.

  27. Don’t have any Hardee’s/CJ where I live (SE FL). I don’t know what’s up with that, most chains won’t go south of Daytona/Orlando. Some think that’s too far, and stop their FL expansion at Jacksonville. It’s very disappointing.

I liked CJ when I lived in CA, but that was a long time ago. I have no idea what they’re like now.

  28. _SomeoneBetter_

Quietly being the sleeper pick for burger spots since forever

  29. Because they have ripped me off too many times for me to care for their existance

  30. RazorRamonio

I can’t stand American cheese so I’ll go famous star with criss cut fries and onion rings. Onion rings go on the burger.

  31. candysell

I used to love going there and getting the big cheeseburgers. They used to be like $3. Now they’re over $5.

  32. Zer0thehero89

I miss their old fries. But I still enjoy the superstar.

  33. penalozahugo

Diablo Burger is my favorite. A burger with stuffed jalapenos.

  34. NeenerKat

Monster thick burger is the best.

  35. Yeah, it just got too expensive. Our Hardee’s actually closed. Was only open 3 years or so.
