The tastes and aromas of Greek wines were enjoyed by the guests of the wine tourism event organized by the Greek National Tourist Office Service Abroad Germany in collaboration with the Embassy of Greece in Berlin and the National Interprofessional Organization of Vine and Wine (EDOAO) at the headquarters of the Embassy of Greece in Berlin, on Thursday, June 12, 2025. The theme of the event was “Wine Routes in Greece: Exploring Wine through Culture and Travel”.
The approximately fifty guests were representatives of selected travel agencies in the greater Berlin area, as well as the leadership of the German Tourist Association DRV. The purpose of the successful event was the extensive presentation of the Greek wine tourism product and wine tasting.

At the beginning of the event, greetings were delivered by the Ambassador of Greece to Germany, Ms. Panagiota Konstantinopoulou, the Head of the Greek National Tourist Organization in Germany Service, Ms. Nicoletta Lekanidi, the CEO of T.O. Olimar Reisen and member of the DRW Board of Directors, Mr. Pascal Zahn, and the President of the National Wine Tourism Committee (EDOAO) Ms. Mary Triantaphyllopoulou.
Particularly interesting was the extensive presentation of wine tourism in Greece by the expert Mr. Nikos Miliarakis.
Among other things, the authenticity and historicity of the indigenous grape varieties per region were highlighted, as well as the modern innovations in the field of wine tourism, with particular reference to the wine routes of Crete.
The guests were impressed by the variety and quality of Greek wines as well as the broader wine tourism product of our country, which offers the visitor the opportunity to discover vineyards and authentic wineries, in combination with archaeological sites, museums and traditional settlements, under the light of sustainable, gentle development, which respects the environment and local communities.
The Greek National Tourist Office Abroad Germany, in collaboration with the Greek Tourism and Wine Association, is planning to organize familiarization trips for tourism professionals from Germany, with the aim of further promoting the Greek wine tourism product.
