After seeking a motorcyclist who the Colorado State Patrol said was in the area of a fatal crash in Boulder County on Sunday morning, the agency said in a Tuesday evening news release that the individual has contacted investigators.

In an earlier news release, the agency wrote that a maroon sedan rolled into a creek after driving off the shoulder on Colo. 7 near milepost 30 around 9:30 a.m. The person of interest was riding a blue motorcycle and wearing a white and black outfit with a black helmet, according to the release.

“It is unknown at this time how the motorcyclist was involved,” CSP Trooper Hunter Mathews wrote in an email. “However, a witness stated they saw the vehicle on scene after the crash occurred, before driving away as others arrived.”

CSP had asked that anyone who may have witnessed this crash, or may know the identity of the person riding the motorcycle, call the CSP Dispatch Center at 303-445-1041 and refer to case number 1D252331.
