Is 18+ tomato plants too much for a household of two?! 😂

Pictured:
5 super sauce tomatoes
5 vivacious tomatoes
2 solar power tomatoes
2 honeycomb hybrids
1 Cherry 100
1 Tie dye tomato
1 Roma tomato

Also a bunch of other plants

P.s. totally encourage borage as a pollinator crop. My garden has been flooded with pollinators because of that plant. Even saw a hummingbird!

It’s going to really be out of control in a couple months! Have fun

I hope that you manage okay despite the insufficient number of tomato plants, OP.

Not a bad problem to have! I meant to grow maybe 2 tomatoes and 2 new pepper plants this year and accidentally ended up with 9 tomatoes, 7 new pepper plants, 11 overwintered peppers, a snap pea and a snap bean…. 😬 have fun!

18 is barely enough. I’m not sure how you’re going to get through the summer on such meager rations. Good luck!

Going to be dealing with pest issues for sure. Aphids or something like that. Spider mites. Or white powder mildew. I would clean up the bottoms pretty good. And domt be afraid to prune off branches that are crowding other plants real badly. It helps to give them the space they need so they can spread out and do their thing.

    No problem at all.

I have 24 for 1 person ;).plus 12 Cubanelle Peppers, 12 Yellow Banana Peppers, a couple of Jalapeño and Habaneros, plus cucumbers and herb pots.

The big issue for me are the indeterminate varieties are already over 5′ tall. In New Jersey and planted them the second week of May. We had a lot rain this season.

I however give a lot away because I love to garden.
