Domaine de la Mordoree Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Reine Des Bois 2021by odedi1 6 Comments odedi1 2 months ago Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.Pretty nose with black fruits, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, chocolates and black pepper.Medium plus in body with medium acidity.Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, dark chocolates, light earth, coffee, herbs and peppercorn.Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries. This is a delicious Grenache blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Fruit forward and easy drinking. Nicely balanced and interesting. Rich, yet elegant.Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.Still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but already very approachable. The high alcohol is well integrated. Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years. Has good potential to become a 94 point wine.Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.A blend of 75% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre, 3% Counoise and 2% Vaccarese. Aged in (20% new) large French oak barrels.15.5% alcohol by volume.92 points$100. bungocheese 2 months ago Their tavel might have been my favorite one I tried when I visited. interstellar-dust 2 months ago One wine to rule them all. /s JohnnyWad15 2 months ago Bang, my “go-to” CnP. I own several cases of these and agree with your notes , but think you paid way too much.
