The condensation makes it wet, and uses extra plastic, and the slipperiest thing you could probably put on it.

I think you’re in the wrong sub. r/mildlyinfuriating might be what you’re looking for.

The 10% of the time they work they’re great. But the other 90% where it just rips off but the seal stays behind with no handle or tab to get it off is annoying af and def stupid food.

  3. CompletelyBedWasted

    I. Fucking. Hate. THEM! Lol. And wtf is with perforations these days?? Useless. Bought new scissors.

  4. velvet-gloves

I had one of these yesterday and the clear part came off the rest of the seal so I had to stab it open with some scissors.

  5. ChameleonPsychonaut

Wrong sub but yeah, these things are completely useless.

  6. bonefulfroot

I’ve never not needed to open these with my teeth

  7. nihilt-jiltquist

It’s why pliers are now in the kitchen utensil drawer

  8. WerewolfGreen7354

How are you guys so bad at opening things with these?? You pull it up from the edge and it peels perfectly from the side.

  9. Unhappy-Midnight5469

I call these 50/50 tabs. 50% chance you’ll open the container, 50% chance you’ll rip the plastic off and leave the rest.

  10. PermanentTrainDamage

I’ve never seen a milk jug with more sealing than just the cap, unless it was a carton.

I often wonder if the people responsible for making these stupid tabs use them and realize how their stupid design DOESN’T WORK!

  12. User error. You need to pull it horizontally to the side the same way the central flap is aligned, not vertically up.

  13. LightHawKnigh

I like these more than the ones asian foods have. They sometimes have the ever so tiny tab on the four sides or nothing at all, but they are so tiny that I can never get my fingers on them, so I just use a knife to cut a hole.

  14. -convallaria_bunny-

If the thin useless plastic tab rips off just stab the middle with a knife and remove it in 2 pieces ya know?

  15. Foxwglocks

Pull along the center of the flap while it’s vertical. Start on one side.

  16. Imissyoudarlin

    r/mildlyinfuriating would probably be better.

  17. vollkornbroot

“innovation” that has started to bother me around 2017 tho

  18. DudeBroMan13

You have to be at least 15% smarter than whatever you’re working with.

  19. scottsplace5

I’m just happy they no longer seal bleach like this.

  20. matthewpepperl

I just grab them by the edge as close to the juge as possible and peel it back slowly works great

  21. NegligentBat

Am I the only person on earth who has no problem with these things? All I ever see is people complaining about them, but I have never once had any issues, they work great.

  22. Surprise_Fragrant

    Lift and Peel

Step One – LIFT the clear plastic piece until it is standing straight, as shown in the photo

Step Two – PEEL the white seal off the jug by pulling up and back simultaneously, similar to how you peel a banana or open a can of soup.

Use a paper towel or rag to dry the tab if it’s wet from condensation (or to hold the tab totally)

Do not try to pull straight up, that will never work.

The *only* time I have problems with these things is when the tab peels off the white seal. Then I stab the seal with a knife and call it a day.

  23. Professional_King790

They should just save the money and take off the stupid plastic piece that you’re supposed to pull on. I have to stick the end of a soon through it and break the seal and then use my fingers to pull the rest out anyway. Whoever came up with this thing is a sadist.

  24. IKillZombies4Cash

Costco has this on their milk and they are impossible to pull off, I just skip to grabbing a knife and going around the inside of the rim with it

  25. MacGibber

Is that a jug of maple syrup from Costco? Those tabs drive me crazy on the syrup and ketchup! The are not easy to remove and sometimes only the paper peels off leaving the plastic seal in place.
