I’m not here to harsh anybody’s vibe. If somebody wants to put ketchup on their steak, that’s their prerogative.

My son was a chef at a fancy steak house. He always cooked the steak how the customer wanted it. Also gave them what ever condiments they wanted. The customers paid the bills

You can put chocolate sauce and sauerkraut on your steak. As long as you don’t expect me to eat it, we’re good.

Personally, I prefer my steak rare, and seasoned with only salt and pepper, no sauce.
But my hot take is: if you have the dubious taste to prefer your steak well done, then putting ketchup on it is probably one of the better moves you can make. It partially helps to compensate for the damage you’ve done to the meat.
