I did lot of research on this sub to cook my strip loin perfectly but I feel like there’s still a grey band 🙁 Still pretty happy for my first steak ever!

If you don’t mind me asking, what made you change from vegetarian?

an entire steak after 6 years of never eating meat feels like an express ticket to diarrhea.

Is that a chimichurri sauce? For sure you haven’t lost the touch on steak.

how did you feel after? I imagine there’s got to be a bit of a transition period where meats not agreeable. usually people introduce it slowly no?

Gray bands are difficult to reduce and I don’t think it matters much. Sometimes I do the old-school steak where it is a gradient from sear/crust – Grey band – medium – medium rare – a touch or rare right in the middle. A lot of depth to the steak flavor rather than 1 complete doneness

Im so hungry rn😻

Well cooked, but what are those weird things in the middle? Is that the “garnish” I’ve heard of?

This looks delicious! I’m a recovering vegan of 15 years and have been eating meat for a few months now, and steak (esp NY strip) is my favorite

Looks like those six years of vegetarianism gave you ample time to learn to make awesome potatoes (and of course that steak looks good too).
