“Wine firms here in the U.S. thought that a tariff on (imported) goods, including wine from Canada, would be a boon, but it has turned out the other way around,”

  1. lol great work there detective…you really solved the case

  2. How could you expect anything but pain when over 1/3 of your export market disappears essentially overnight?

If the wine exports are struggling, will that mean there will be more wine on the American shelves and at a lower price?

I was in a pub in Halifax last week and my partner ordered a Woodford Reserve bourbon. The bartender looked at us like we were crazy. “Haven’t stocked any American produced brands for the past few months.”

    We enjoyed a single malt.

As an American, I’ll be more than happy to help with the overflow. Your loss, eh, hosers?

I didn’t hear any pros in the wine industry excited about the tariffs or growing trade war.

Only Trump sheep with no understanding of economics or how global markets work thought it would help domestic suppliers.

  7. We’re being run into the ground by idiots.

I hope every supplier in the US is calling their reps every day and making sure they know how their spineless cow towing is seen.

We used to sell so so much caymus it was hilarious. $109 CAd per and I could just hear this sub laughing every time someone picked one up. I mean to each their own but 109 bucks for rabina is hilarious.

This was predictable because the demand for domestic wines has decreased 3 years in a row. Basically, supply of domestic producers increased overnight by tens if not hundreds of thousands of cases.

I imagine the EU is feeling the effects but I have seen Canadians are buy EU wines now instead of U.S. wines.

    Trump’s a f-ing moron.

    Edit: sorry… 🥂

  10. Look at what gets exported to canada, you wouldn’t drink most of it.
