We just picked only HALF of our cherry tree and this is how many we have + more. We plan on selling most of them, but I’m wanting to make/bake things with them. They’re Rainier cherries, so they’re rather tart, what do you guys think would go good with this?

omg i would be in heaven. Cherry pie is my favorite, but you can mix it up and do hand pies. You can also cook up a few batches of filling (sugar+ pectin or cornstarch/tapioca starch) and freeze or can it for later use — super yum swirled into yogurt, on top of cheesecake, or in between cake layers too. Save the pits and make [roasted cherry ice cream](https://www.seriouseats.com/roasted-cherry-ice-cream-recipe).

Clafoutis! So easy, you already have everything you need. Milk, eggs, flour, sugar. I throw some almond flour in sometimes

Clafoutis! I also would put a strong vote out for Cherry Delight and Cherries Jubilee – no one makes the Jubilee anymore and it’s delightful!

Rainier cherries are my favourite so I’d shove like half of it in my face lol.

I like cherry syrup! Add some to some sparkling water and it’s a great summer drink. Cherry compote in cheesecake is also tasty.

Make cherry baked oats. At least kill 2 birds with one stone and make something you can eat for breakfast (though cherry crisp is a popular breakfast item in my house hahah)

Are you sure they are Rainier? Rainier are yellow and red and are sweet.
Edit: I noticed your other pictures and see that some do surely look yellow.

honestly a classic cherry pie with ice cream

  12. Cherry preserves, you can use it in cocktails or add it to cake recipe or scones. Can it for long term storage.

    Cherry strudels are delicious!

Omg tart cherry pie is the best! Add some almond flavor into the filling, it rounds out the flavor and it isn’t too sweet! It’s the only way I like cherry pie. My mom does something incredible to hers in addition to that but that’s what I can remember off the top of my head (it might be her pie crust too) sooooo good!

What does the first picture depict?

We recently bought a cherry tree – some years before it will produce in large quantities, but we’re excited

I made a chocolate sponge cake with chocolate mousse and a bunch of fresh cherries in it and it was soooo good. Very simple and I know not very cherry forward but I literally used a 5lb bag and mashed em all in the layers and on top

If you dry some, you can add them to granola, cookies, etc. I like adding them to chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.

Okay so it’s not baking but personally, I LOVE cherry vareniki. Hands down my fucking favorite dumpling type treat. I’ll eat them for breakfast lunch dinner and desert.

You can also do other berries/fruits but the cherry ones come out the best. Second place would be blueberry.

  22. Cherry Custard Pie and Cherry Dumplings!! Google Cherry Vareniki.

What is the white powder used in the first photo and is it for washing them? Taste? Pretty curious.
