This is my first year growing peppers, and I kind of went overboard trying as many varieties as I could to figure out what I like best. Now I’ve got way more peppers than two people could ever eat.

What do you all do when you’re drowning in peppers? Freeze or dry them? Give them away?

Especially cayenne, jalapeño, habanero, and padron peppers. I have multiple plants of those. For most of the others I only have one plant.

How often do you water and fertilize?

  2. most hot pepper varieties freeze pretty well, so you’re good there. you can also dry more and use in sauces and/or stir fries, and then grind some of the dried peppers to make a seasoning spice.

Siracha, and if there are any left over, you could make some siracha.

I freeze individual (sandwich bag size) to make winter chili and pasta or Mexican dishes. Yum! Good work…

Hot sauce, salsa, ferments, pickled peppers, eat them raw, dry them and make powder, so many options. All wonderful.

    Eat ’em,

    pickle ’em,

    dehydrate ’em,

    fry ’em,

    slice ’em,

    hot sauce ’em

    stuff ’em,

    freeze ’em whole!
