Good deal? I’ve heard folks mention this stuff but never used it.

I use it routinely in my baking. I plan on moving overseas relatively soon, and will probably ship a package that size filled with it with me.

That’s a great price! Costco sells it online for $30 for 8 oz.
ActivePresence2319
Love it! I replaced my normal vanilla extract with this paste instead for kost of my recipes and its a clear winner! I buy two at a time so i always yave some. I highly recommend this paste
TheOld3oy
Brother you better pick that stuff up. That’s an amazing deal and with paste especially a little goes a long way
kiripon
nielsen massey is fantastic and thats a great price.
SadAnkles
Sounds like it’s great. I grabbed two!
HndsDwnThBest
This stuff is amazing, and that is damn good price for it!
RocYourFace
I use this stuff religiously and stock up whenever Costco has this deal. For a small bottle at a regular grocery store, it can cost you up to 25$ for an 8oz! This is a steal
OhMyGentileJesus
It’s the best one. Buy two.
Illustrious-Past9873
This is my favorite vanilla, I know it’s pricey but it’s worth it!
ArchOwl
Got this from Costco once
Never gonna buy anything else

Related: do you use the same amount? Say a recipe calls for 1tsp, do you use 1tsp or less because it’s more concentrated?
zedicar
Yes! Use it in anything calling for vanilla and it lasts forever
bourbonkitten
Ugh that’s a great deal. I’m envious. I’d get AT LEAST two. That’s even the Madagascar vanilla which is a bit more floral. I’ve only ever used their blended vanilla paste.
The first time I used it in French toast one morning, everyone in the house commented how the house smelled amazing.
omgkelwtf
I love this stuff. Protip: spray your measuring spoons with cooking spray before you scoop it out. Otherwise a lot of it is going to stick to the spoon.

I don’t do a ton of baking so I don’t know much about this, can anyone tell me if you’re just supposed to substitute this for vanilla extract? Does it make a big difference? Does it have the same shelf life as extract?
shoresandsmores
My Costco never has good vanilla deals 😭
silibaH
It’s a good deal
Spiritual-Project728
Yep!!! I’m a big baker and have used it for years but I also like using a tiny bit of it to make fancy iced coffees at home
Realistic_List7286
It’s absolutely fantastic deal. It also takes your baking to a new level. It’s especially good in crème cakes. Where is this? I need some.
letmeseeyoucrossover
I’ve been waiting for it to come back so this is making me hope I’ll see it soon. It’s so good.
djbfsu1
Do you substitute that for Vanilla Extract? If so, how?
vaporwavecookiedough
This stuff FUCKS. I’d get two.

Former pro baker here- get them while you can. It’s a good deal, good product quality, and good shelf life. Literally everything you could want in an ingredient. Also, considering the rise in grocery prices, decreasing food quality control, and growing cost of shipping for decent spices in the USA, it is logical to get a couple when able.
Note: please only get what you’ll feasibly use! If you don’t bake often, one will do. A little quality paste or emulsion goes a long way.

Yes, it’s a good deal

Shit I gotta get to Costco!
h8hannah8h
This looks like a great deal! Is it worth it for someone who is a novice baker and doesn’t have a lot of experience with using paste? I want to get it but I don’t want to waste it! Not sure its shelf life.
realplastic
I hope this comes back to my Costco soon. It only has extract and not neilsen massey 😟
purposeful-hubris
It’s the best on the consumer market, IMO.
Known_Measurement799
Pick it up! You will never use any other brand anymore!
Face-palmJedi
Vanilla paste is good, however I prefer the cuttlefish.
Clamwacker
Not sure if it’s the same stuff but I got one from the same brand that was bourbon vanilla. Makes amazing frosting for cinnamon rolls. Tried adding some to a waffle mix the other morning and it was amazing. Topped it with peaches, whipped cream, and Vietnamese cinnamon. Which now that I think about it, I got it all at Costco haha
notasingle-thought
Holy shit why is it so cheap, buy 2 or 3 OP
Sea-Soup-8520
It’s the best time to buy it at Costco, the * asterisk on the sign means it’s less likely to be restocked once it’s sold out or it will be discontinued and there’s a limit on how many are in the warehouse. ( I used to work as a vendor in Costco)
littleboz204
Trader joes vanilla bean paste is very good and $5/4oz for those that don’t have costco or want something a little cheaper
thefembotfiles
you’ll never want to use anything else after trying this & yes that’s a good deal
also makes a great gift for someone who bakes as alotta people won’t splurge on this for themselves

That vanilla paste is gold! Grab it!
tinychaipumpkin
I love this vanilla bean paste I especially love to use it when I make madeleines

Just saw this at Costco yesterday and wondered the same thing! So do you just replace the liquid vanilla used in a recipe with this?
