We’re putting our 14 year old boy to rest today. After old age and health problems finally caught up to him, he’s ready to be at peace. Every time I fire the smoker up he’s always glued to it, sniffing like crazy and hanging out with me. I thought it was fitting to smoke him a rack of ribs as his last meal. Rest in peace Winston. You will be greatly missed, and smoking will never be the same ❤️

So sorry, man. That sucks. He looks exactly like my little guy Kylo who is also glued to the smoker every time I fire it up. Good for you for making sure to enjoy one last BBQ together. Rest easy, Winston.

Hits too close to home, had to say goodbye to my boy this past March. In those moments of sadness, remember the times he made you laugh! I’m sure you were a great dad’o, he’s at peace now.

  9. So sorry for your loss. Rest easy buddy and enjoy all of the BBQ you can eat up there!

You gave him a good life. I’ll pour a whiskey later and think of Winston and my old buddy Oskar. He loved the grill too.

I’m jealous (in a weird way). Put down my best friend (black lab) 3 weeks ago but she wouldn’t eat (liver failure) so I couldn’t do the great deed you’ve done here. I did shave a greenie (her favorite treat) into a a zillion tiny slivers and she did eat a bit of it. We did bring her up the mountain for one more scenic view. Her favorite place after many years as a hiking and camping sidekick.
It still hurts man, even just typing this, so I feel for you man.

Just had to do the same yesterday, our foster dog that we’d had for a whole year. He was my fucking buddy. He got smoked duck, pulled pork, bacon, and bratwurst from our local place. You’re doing the right thing.

You’re a good doggie dad, my friend. God bless you. You did good. Mister, Brownie, Patty, Lucy, dolly and many others will be at the gate to meet Him. Remember, “All dogs go to heaven.”
