I get plant based mince (the brand is called V2) in my meal kits sometimes and every time it’s had these little white spots which I assume are harmless as it doesn’t smell/I’ve never gotten sick but I’m just wondering if anyone knows what it might be? As far as I know this mince is frozen until it’s delivered to me and then I refrigerate it and have 5 days to use it. Is it just freezer burn?

Is it just some kind of additional fat to add moisture to the finished product.
Wonder if it’s coconut oil that’s solidified for the fat component?
V2 has always had them, and they melt when you cook it. I just assumed it was part of the design to ensure that it’s fatty enough.
I use a different brand, they have it too. It’s the fat.
Yeah it’s like little fat nodules they put in to make it like real mince I’ve always assumed. I freeze veggie mince a lot which seems to increase how noticeable it is I find. Was it frozen ?

Think of it as “marbling”
Solidified fat, to enhance the flavor. It melts into the mince when you cook it.
It’s fat solids! Makes it crisp when cooked. Enjoy!
It’s fat solids made using the same technology of dipping dots
Vegatuble oil
