Pig Beach BBQ's smash burger has won big at the SoBe Wine & Food Festival Burger Bash and the NYC Wine & Food Festival Burger Bash. I know of only five burger joints that have done that feat. Can you name them?

However, getting back to the matter at hand, it was their 8oz American Wagyu steak burger on a house-baked bun that rocked my burger senses.

They keep it simple with American cheese, a thick-sliced onion cooked in butter, and some mayo. There's an option to add pulled pork, but it's not entirely necessary.

What a find!

By the way, this fella is only available at their West Palm Beach location.

It is 10oz and not 8oz, not sure why I undersold the size in the description.

    Gorgeous. Perfect for r/onionlovers too

Slab of onion, hard agree. Slab of ground beef, hard pass. Hi-Pointe Drive In located in St. Louis has won all the burger awards and trounces this mealy wad of beef. Plus they own the “Goodburger” car.

How the hell do they call this a smash burger?

I was gonna say! Never seen this beast at the Gowanus location.

  6. How does one eat this? Seriously – it’s looks great but crikey!

Is that like, an entire onion down there? Or is it just like one or two ‘rings’, cause that’s crazy if it’s onion all the way through

If the “patty” and onion were half as thick, I’d be all over it. Otherwise, uh uh, that’s just too much

I’m forever amazed at the people that are so dumb as to be unable to figure out how to eat a fucking cheeseburger. I assume these same people go into full blue-screen lockup when they see a hoagie or a big burrito. Looks great to me.

The ingredients are great, the proportions are terrible

Life changing & hamburgers? Kind of an oxymoron, unless you’re referring to the impacts of cholesterol on life expectancy.

Does it look good? Hell yeah.

Would it look better if it weren’t sitting on an entire onion? Probably.

  13. I forget where I saw it, but I’ve been adopting the thick solid slick of raw onion on my burgers. I really like the bite it gives in contrast to the rest of the ingredients.
