I love sourdough bread and this makes me sad. This is beyond popping it back in the oven or toaster. Contacted the baker to let her know I need a new loaf or $15 back. How do I pick out a good loaf of bread? It feels like a gamble!

I’m curious what it looks like on the outside. Can you show a pic?
This is the bread version of “how do you want your steak cooked?” “Still mooing”
Oh wow.
If you tap a well done loaf on the bottom, it will make a hollow sound. The half-raw one would probably not sound like that.
I have been very unimpressed with farmers market sourdough. I think it is generally rushed, and the more that is added, the poorer the quality.. I know this isn’t the experience everyone has, but it has been mine this year. I kinda gave up
Yikes! Definitely get your money back.
There’s a product called a “thermometer” the Baker can use next time to make sure the loaf is cooked. I am an amateur baker with a home oven and I’ve learned the hard way that a thermometer is 🧑🍳
If you want to do one better – show up at the next market and hand a thermometer to the baker. Make sure there’s an awkwardly long moment of eye contact so the Baker knows that you know what they know they should know.
Honestly it’s a bummer because I really love the movement to bake and sell bread locally. A decent instant probe thermometer isn’t too expensive and in my opinion is certainly necessary if you’re going to sell a premium product at a premium price.
Don’t let home bakers into farmers markets.
If they were a good baker, you wouldn’t have to worry about picking a “good loaf” because every loaf would be good. I’m so sorry you had to deal with this!! What was the seller’s response?
Damn. Not it was almost done. I’m sorry 🫤
What the hell. This is offensive.
Having trouble sleeping and this has just exacerbated my problem 😩 my condolences
Damn bruh. Sorry for your loss
Ya’ll are being mean. You need to remember this is from a farmers market. Just bc you aren’t in the know of the hippest and trendiest salmonella cleanse undone soughdough recipes doesn’t mean OP deserves a refund. 🙄🤣
Something like this happening is why I will never sell my loaves. I always slice them in half to check my crumb (and for easier storing!), and only gift to family and friends. Who are willing to let me know if anything goes wrong.
I’d be mortified if I sold a loaf and this happened. Get your money back and don’t take a replacement loaf! If they’re this sloppy with one loaf, I couldn’t trust another loaf from them.
Gross! $15 GROSS!
Ewww
And it’s so small for such price anyway. Or its because i’m from a différent country ? We’re more into dry fruits and seeds in France. Those were Frozen raw blueb.
