I know this is semi-niche for a baking sub but DO NOT BUY THIS BUTTER!

It SUCKS! Has 0 flavor. It’s completely fucking CLEAR! And it’s expensive too!!!!

If I can save one person the same mistake I made I will have done my duty as a baker.

I have it in my fridge. I guess I’ll use it for frosting.

Edited to say, I had high hopes for it because I think Harris Teeter has by far the best store brand butter out there. (It’s gone down in quality a little bit the last year, but I always use it for my non-fancy bakes)

I buy two types of butter… basic ~Walmart like butter / whatever is on sale and the other type is Keri-gold.

    Keri-gold is the best.

    Edit: it’s spelled Kerrygold apparently.

well at least you have super cute nails

There’s obviously a packaging typo. Pasture-raised-from-the-dead butter; the best spectral condiment money can buy.

I wish I could remember the brand as there was another one that I hated the flavor of that was an organic grass-fed butter.

My go to number one is currently Kirkland grass-fed butter (Product of New Zealand) which I like a little bit better than the Kerrygold.

Plugra has always been my go to for fancy butter when baking. I can’t find it anywhere anymore. Cue the sobs….

I looked at the ingredients and its exactly like the butter we buy in Norway. What do you mean its clear?

  8. thecarolinelinnae

Gonna need to see that clear butter. I’m confused at that.

    Kerrygold is the GOAT.

I am absolutely burning with curiosity as to what this looks like. And tastes like. Not enough to buy it, but this has definitely piqued my interest in… *some* way.

I’m sorry, the butter itself is transparent? Did you use it all? If you still have it I would really love to see it. That’s crazy

  11. Come on now, if you’re going to make an outrageous claim like the butter is clear, you’ve got to back that up with pictures.

  12. ExpensiveNumber7446

I’ve never seen clear butter! How is that even possible??

  13. 24Splinter

It says 85% butter fat. You bought a butter menu for making gee

  14. CocoRothko

Telling us the butter is CLEAR without including a pic is diabolical. Just kidding. But…

  15. Funky_shakes

Ya that butter messed up my lemon bars so bad

    Food for thought.

Land o Lakes is employee owned and donates a shit ton of money. I know someone who started at the bottom and is now a big corporate person and they say they’ve never been more proud to work for a company and they are the last person I would expect to pat a corporation on the back for any reason at all.

So now I only buy their butter.

  17. For all the rightful Kerrygold lovers in the comments-Aldi has an Irish butter that is almost as yellow and a couple bucks cheaper.

I shop at HT all the time and I agree with OP that this butter is not great. However, I wouldn’t say it’s *horrible*, it’s just not worth the premium price they charge. HT is a lot more expensive than it needs to be.

HT private selection take n bake cookies are so good tho 😋

Thanks for the heads up homie! Do you have any left to share a photo of what it looks like?

Side note: your nails are adorable!!
