Is it really taste preference or are you just trying to curb the sodium/calories? If it’s the latter you can easily season or sauce the noodles yourself with healthier alternatives

  2. milkdimension

If you like your instant noodles without any seasoning you can just buy plain noodles in bulk at the Asian supermarket

  3. EmperorFaiz

You know plain dried noodle pack exists, right?

  4. Rustly_Spoons

My gf does. I just take double broth so it works out

  5. canolafly

Oh, I thought it was just adding the flavor packet without extra water, which – guilty-but those noodles by themselves? They have weird stale rancid flavor to me.

  6. DangleMangler

Nah, I gotta have a little water to mix my salt pack in. I like to eat ramen dry sometimes though, just open the flavor pack and sprinkle a little on as you go. It’s kinda like chips, only it isn’t.

  7. This is the objectively best way to make noodles. Studies have shown.

You can also try adding a little butter to the finished product.

  8. Sweet-liqourice

I thought this was the norm. Growing up, this is always how my mum made noodles for my brother and I.

  9. I_might_be_weasel

I used to do this with pot noodles at work. Made them cool down faster.

I put in the seasoning, stir it up, then drain most of the liquid out.

  11. Laticia_1990

I drain mine but I still use the packet for seasoning.

  12. OGBRedditThrowaway

This is pretty common on r/InstantRamen.

Well I don’t put no sauce, but it’s way better without the broth. Cheap way to imitate spaghetti for me. Drain it, *then* dump the seasonings on. Maybe some chili or some other protein if I feel like chili mac or Skyline Chili. Add tomato sauce and some ricotta and it’s fake lasagna for cheap. Super nice. Texture of the brothless noodles is great.

Exactly what I do, don’t need all of that salty water, I’m here for the noodles

  15. Palanki96

No but why not just season it yourself

Also why don’t you just buy plain noodles instead

  16. Infinite_Tiger_3341

It’s probably healthier that way honestly. So much less sodium

  17. Homelessnomore

I add garlic butter, or, if I happen to have it, Domino’s garlic dipping sauce.

  18. I have never done this but I’m thinking it’s a great idea 👏🏻

  19. BassCopter

try indo-mie brand noodles. they are supposed to be prepared like this and so good

  20. JaskarSlye

ramen is not common in my country, only the very cheap instant ones and I ate like that my entire life until around 30 when a girl I used to date took me to a restaurant where they served it properly, god I was surprised

  21. DragonScrivner

Your egg yolk counts as sauce

But I like to do the flavor packet for a minute and then drain most of it away — leaves a nice flavor.

  22. Ravioli_Ravioli4

Drain, add a little butter to the pan, noodles back in and mix in like 1/3 packet of seasoning *chefs kiss*

  23. Hopeless-Cause

I like eating them uncooked so I can’t judge lol

  24. PeachxHuman

I drain mine almost completely dry after dumping the seasoning packet with the water and scramble two eggs in it and a pinch of shredded cheddar. Delicious. (Used to, can’t do much sodium anymore)

  25. May seem kinda weird to people but my daughter loved noodles when she was even younger and would eat them with soup/sauce or just plain

  26. aussie_shane

Is it unusual? I think if you’re not a soup/broth type of person then this is the way. Just add the seasoning to the noodles after cooking. Residual water helps dilute seasoning to coat noodles and still get full flavour. Maybe it’s frowned upon, but if it works for you, you do you boo.

  27. MrCockingFinally

Listen, OP, go find yourself a pack of Indomie Mie Goreng instant noodles.

That shit is gonna change your life.

  28. Do you put the packet in at least? I do something similar but I at least use the packet
