Blue fin tuna tarantelo in olive oil by Herpac

First time trying tarantelo, it was leaner then your normal ventresca but there was some wonderful fatty chunks in here that sent me to another place. A favorite of mine will always be the fatty bits .
It was soft, silky and meaty all at once. I will come back for more, any day.

Looks delish! You always find unique cans! This makes me wonder how tarentelo corresponds to sashimi types. I think ventresca is the same part as otoro. Maybe I’ll sit down at a sushi bar and say, “Tarentelo nigiri, please.” 😆 Some chefs won’t bat an eye and will make me some. Others might point to the illustrated chart. 😅

  3. Whenever I see HERPAC on a store shelf i think to meself: “That’s a box of cold sore medicine, right? How’d it get shelved over here?”

Mighty fine tunas, but that brand identity could do with a bit of a punch up.
