This was my fourth time dining at The French Laundry. I know it's a restaurant folks like to hate on, but I've yet to have a bad experience there. Servers are always friendly and engaging, and the food is always delicious.

I really enjoyed the progression of flavors in yesterday's tasting menu, which started with a pleasantly acidic take on Caesar salad, followed by a bright lobster dish and capped off by two incredibly savory meat courses of squab and lamb.

My only gripe is, I wish it was easier to get a reservation.

  1. Did you have any of the supplements? The menu looks great.

  2. It honestly looks a bit underwhelming to me. Looks very “standard”, but I suppose they’re all about super classic fine dining?

What’s with all the quotation marks on the menu. It’s very distracting.

I dream of trying Keller’s restaurant one day!
Am curious..What is the price of the tasting menu?

Glad you loved it. I’ve been there once over a decade ago. My first 3*. I’ve tried to get a reservation multiple times over the last couple years for my wife but continue to fail. We are on the east coast but I’m determined to make it happen for her one of these days.

Thanks for posting. I’ll likely never get there but it’s nice to see the pics of such artfully composed food.

OP, I’m with you. Dined here twice and intend to dine again. The meal has always been spectacular. I think people like to take potshots at the genuine thing.

The plating is absolutely gorgeous wow

  9. The criticisms are dumb. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, but they still are amazing. Beautiful preparation, all of the food still contains a ton of complications.
