Oh absolutely, steak at home is 10x better than at a restaurant. Particularly if you know what you’re doing and season it right and sear it up good with some butter.

I agree, because most restaurants don’t let me drink 8 beers and eat my food naked. Looks good btw 🔥

Just missing 2 slices of Colby jack then it would be perfect lol

the advantages steakhouses had were supposedly 1-consistency, 2-ingredient quality, and 3-that insane commercial broiler for searing. but…
1- most places aren’t consistent. you’re safer ordering medium cuz you don’t know what that steaks gonna come out to. so many methods you can do at home to get even more consistent results (sous vide, reverse sear, constant flip, etc)
2- the consumer nowadays has access to such great quality beef. you can buy or even dry age to your own liking. some restaurants used to lie about their wagyu beef. i saw an ig post for chefs that claim places fake dry age. can’t trust anyone nowadays.
3- the home broiler can’t beat the sear on that commercial salamander but…. most of these high end places sear one side, like wtf. the sear is probably the most inconsistent part of a steak at a restaurant. its underseared, it’s burnt, it’s seared on one side, or it looks good on top but its weak sear on the bottom
steak at home is just better

Would eat the steak with 2 fists and no utensils but my only complaint is about the potato with the lack of toppings 😂

Why does it not look appetizing for some reason. Is it a little dry?

Mostly true with the exception of Ruth Chris steakhouses. It’s so expensive but the steak is outstanding
