This garlicky Harissa Aioli is reminiscent of a classic aioli sauce, but with a little smokey spicy kick from Morocco’s favorite hot sauce. You’ll love how easily this comes together (I’m talking 5 minutes) with a jar of harissa, mayo, lemon juice, garlic, and oil. Serve as a side sauce with grilled meats, or slathered on bread in sandwiches and burgers.

1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, grated
optional: salt & pepper

this haresa ioli is about to be your new favorite condiment It’s so easy to make and it has that perfect balance of spicy smoky tangy It’s perfect for dipping fries in spreading on a burger or having with a side of roasted veggies Honestly wherever you like your ioli No judgment here The base of this is as easy as any other aioli recipe Just add a haresa So we’re starting in a bowl with some mayo And I highly recommend using a good quality mayo here Don’t cheap out on this cuz it’s the base of the whole recipe It’s the base of our ioli No surprise there And then to this we’re adding our haresa Now you can add more or less depending on your preference with spice level This really isn’t that spicy especially when paired with the mayo and the lemon juice and the oil It really just adds that perfect little hint of spice So then we’re adding our lemon juice to really add some nice tang and our olive oil as well as a good sprinkle of salt and pepper I like to go light here and then you can always add more at the end And then finally we are grating in a couple cloves of garlic Now you could do this minced if you prefer but I find that grating it just helps to evenly incorporate it into the sauce and then you’re not ending up with big chunks of garlic in your ioli And once that’s added to the bowl you’re ready to just mix everything together Now maybe get a bigger bowl because obviously I’m having to be a little bit precious here but you really can’t mess this up Just get it all whisked together And you’ll know that it’s done when it looks creamy and light pink in color It might feel like the oil isn’t combining but just trust me Keep whisking and it will all get incorporated beautifully Now once it is evenly combined I do recommend giving it a taste and adding additional salt or pepper if you feel like it needs it You can also add another squeeze of lime if you want to add a little bit more acidity if you think it needs it Again especially when you’re making sauces it’s so important to taste as you go and make sure everything is just to your liking because it’s easy to change Please let me know in the comments what you like to serve this with I hope you enjoy
