Their expectations read as though the food cost will be paid out of the chef’s salary.
Nostrils
I already think explaining food cost is going to be difficult.
HoldEvenSteadier
$35k a year, $5k a year for a “free” parking space, $40k “value” of being first option at their eventual IPO.
bluestargreentree
7 days a week? $80k salary, cost of food doesn’t seem to be covered? Awful tech bro as a boss?
Hard pass
PimpOfJoytime
Who the fuck is working 350 days a year?
reddiwhip999
Are they expecting one guy to work 350 days a year, making 30 meals a day? Are they forgetting about the cost of materials? What about the kitchen build out? Also, is he saying that employees will no longer get to take 30 minutes for lunch, and will be eating while they work? And do you think you’re going to get a Michelin starred chef for $80,000 a year (unless he’s using the term loosely, for *anybody* who has been a cook in a restaurant that has a star or two. I’ve known hundreds of those, and many of them would just plain suck at this job)?…

I worked in IT at a place that had a “cafeteria” on site. It’s not fair to call it a cafeteria, because the food was fucking BOMB. Incredibly cheap too.
I always thought it was a pretty sweet gig for the cooks. They worked Monday through Friday, 7AM – 3PM, had PTO, free healthcare, and bank holidays off like everyone else.

The whole thing is bullshit these fake business posts all look the same with numbers and math to make it look real. No one is working an office job and taking 15 days off a year. 80k MIGHT be the chef salary but it doesn’t count for food costs or insurance or 401k or taxes or or. What about equipment and maintenance. Not to mention the 75 an hour employee is incredibly low. A bike tune up cost 80 bucks and takes an hour .. are these tech insurance employees producing less than a bike tune up ?!
PappaWoodies
If your saving them $430k/yr chef should get paid $185-200k. With the productivity saved being shared between the rest of the team. This chef is creating more productivity while increasing health, quality of life, etc .. living in Bay area 80k don’t pay for shit when rent is outrageous in a housing depleted market. This is slave labor for rich moneymakers.
Curious_Emu1752
An Executive Chef making 80k in my region would be borderline illegal (in the state alone, not just the region) and WILDLY underpaid. You want Michelin experience for your startup at that price? Eat my entire ass, moron.
Chamilitary710
Knew a guy that took on a position similar to this, and yes it failed miserably. It became a “butler” type of job where he was expected to make amazing meals/be a bartender for 15+ and create a daily menu in a residential kitchen, on top of being ready to serve any “client” on a whim and it paid less than 80k. These type of guys think they know what they are asking for but truly don’t know the logistics of it all, or are genuinely trying to get over on a young over eager individuals.

It’s my understanding that “Michelin star” chefs don’t cook for just 30 people a meal, or for more than 2 meals a day. This guy really wants a mom.
merlin2181
So…. If I am saving you $403,830 per year, then you can definitely afford to pay me $300,000 and you will still save $103,830. Seems like a win-win to me.
Hansel_VonHaggard
Getting an actual michelin star chef in the bay area to even walk in your door you gotta be offering 200k. I don’t see that happening. Cost of living is INSANE there.
terrordactylUSA
A michelin level CHEF
zdh989
$80k ain’t getting you anywhere close to a chef with a star.
Not_My_Emperor
30 employees 7 days in office?
Are they on a rotating schedule or are these people working 365 days a year? And the chef is expected to work that much as well? For 80k? In the Bay area?
Fuck all the way off
YourKillingMeShnalls
No, because I have zero Michelin STARS.

What the US bombing Iran and rounding up illegals using pardoned J6 milita types has taught me about inbound B2B sales and what you can learn from it as well. – probably this guy tomorrow on Linkedin

What utter crap. This is nothing but nonsense, and I promise, you would NEVER see a paycheck. Hard pass. Someone is really bad at grifting.

No. That is some hard-core corpo shit. Not my style.

Hi, I’m mich, my mom used to say I’m a star chef. Nobody made nuggies like I did. Where do I apply?
tummysnuggles
80k in SF is a fucking joke. That’s without getting into the rest of this techno fascist bullshit
Pastapro2020
For $200k, maybe. But $80k for that is a joke. San Francisco? I make more than that in AZ.

I would advocate The Menu treatment for assholes who write this stuff. probably chatgpt anyway
Equivalent-Excuse-80
Im so confused. How is bragging about how much productivity of their employees helps incentivize a chef to work there?
evanset6
No Michelin Star chef is going to work for poverty wages in San Francisco
JaerBear62611
When they say they are hungry “both ways” does that mean they are both eating food and shoving it up their asses as well?
