STERLING, VA — Visitors to the Cascades Marketplace will see much work underway as part of a revitalization effort for the shopping center. The newest business addition opening is Brasserie Royale, a French restaurant from the owners of Local Provisions at the same shopping center.
Brasserie Royale announced its grand opening will be on Wednesday, July 2 at 46290 Cranston Street, Sterling, VA. According to its website, the “restaurant aims to combine exceptional classic flavors, warm service in an atmosphere that is intimate & refreshing.” While the menu has not yet been released, options will include cocktails, freshly baked breads, chilled shellfish, French onion soup, steak frites, escargot, roast chicken, homemade ice creams and more.
Reservations are not yet available at Brasserie Royale, but check back on www.brasserieroyaleva.com and follow its Instagram page.
The sister restaurant, Local Provisions, has received a positive reception since opening in early 2023. That restaurant has a rotating farm-to-table menu featuring seasonal ingredients.
Cascades Marketplace, which has been plagued with vacancies in recent years, is in the midst of a revitalization. Supervisor Juli Briskman (D-Algonkian), who represents the area with Cascades Marketplace, said in a video update last week that Villas at Cascades stacked townhouses next to the shopping center could have its first buildings occupied in September.
Other stacked townhouses and regular townhouses are planned on one of the shopping center’s blocks. The supervisor noted the former Skyzone that closed last year has been demolished.
In addition, Briskman said crews are working on sidewalk improvements on Cranston and Southbank Streets to make Cascades Marketplace more pedestrian friendly.
Other changes include the McDonald’s being demolished for a future Shake Shack, plans for Starbucks to relocate within the shopping center and add a drive-thru, and future businesses such as immersive gaming experience Activate, Paris Baguette, and Inju Korean BBQ. Recently opened restaurants include Loudoun County’s first Taco Bamba and CHIKO from James Beard-nominated The Fried Rice Collective.
Another upcoming opening will be Paris Baguette, a French-inspired South Korean bakery working on its Cascades Marketplace location (46309 Cranston Street). Signs are up at the location, but an opening date has not yet been announced. The brand’s new Leesburg location opened last week.
