Was in NYC again this past weekend for round 2 dress fitting and eats around town.
Friday
9am: Okonomi (repeat)
12pm: Wedding dress fitting. Maybe next time, I won’t eat beforehand 😅 bc they took some in last time and it SNATCHED ME UP
1:30pm: L’Industrie Pizzeria – pro tip: order a whole pie online and skip the line. Walked up and grabbed my pizza, walked out. Just make sure you order from the correct location.
5pm: Don Angie
7pm: Claud for cake only. Disappointed.
Saturday
9am: Balthazar
12pm: Monkey Bar
5pm: Saint Urban – highly recommend if you’re big on wine
7pm: Lysee
Sunday
10am: Golden Diner – got there at 8:45am and was the 8th party. Got in first round seating at the counter. I like certainty. I didn’t want to have to stay in the area waiting for a text for seating availability. PANCAKES.
11am: Fong On
12pm: From Lucie
3pm: Jeju Noodle Bar (repeat).
5pm: Magnolia Bakery
Flew home and started my calorie deficit.

Disagree with monkey bar / 4 Charles comparison even if they are sisters. Au cheval is closer MB felt a mile away. Otherwise looks like a fun weekend
This in three days is crazy lol
You should try OKONOMI’s seafood ramen if you haven’t already. Also, glad you liked Lysee. They lowkey have the best pastries in NYC. Shame they don’t really advertise their Viennoiserie.
Nice choice on Fong On’s ginger tofu pudding!
Btw, I don’t know how to write a list on posts without it automatically paragraphing it. I wanted a timeline 😭. If anybody knows how, let me know.
thanks for posting – solo traveler going to monkey bar and gramercy tavern next week. snagged reservations late at night. Hoping to visit l’industrie as I usually visit Bleeker street pizza to skip the lines (since solo, I’m looking for a slice only)
Galia Lahav!! That’s what stands out to me! I’m envious in the best, most healthiest way. I’m sure you’re going to look stunning for your event.
Thanks for the heads up with Claud. A friend of mine is traveling to NYC soon and wanted to bring me back a slice, I’ll tell her to go elsewhere.
Thank you for the L’industrie hack! 🙏
TSA prolly wanted it 💔
THREE DAYS
Okonomi sounds amazing! I’ll have to check it out the next time I go to NYC
I… think I met you at From Lucie on Sunday. That photo of the chocolate cake on the paper plate at that very spot is definitely deja vu for me LOL. Hi!
Claude’s chocolate cake (West Village) is my fave aside from homemade.
Would you say golden diner is better than bubbys when it comes to pancakes? I got the pancakes to go at Golden Diner last time because the wait was like 2 hours. They weren’t that great for me. I need to go to Clinton St and try their pancakes.
okonomi!
Chocolate cake at Super Nice Pizza in the UWS is excellent (and the slice about the size of your head)
I enjoyed your review with photo format, thanks!
The Monkey Bar burger is great in its own way but it is not the same as the 4 Charles burger at all.
Okonomi, don angie (salad, pork, and mussels pasta are my go tos), jeju, and l’industrie are so solid. You did very well.
Jeju has kinda lost its spunk imo but their gochu is still so good. Also love their family ramyun and crudo type dishes. Service has been hit or miss.
Just one day I hope to see my restaurant on here
Surprised you didn’t like Claud. Were you there specifically for the cake? Cause he rest of the menu is great.
Two questions – 1. okonomi Brooklyn or West 26th street? I’m gonna have to try this place for breakfast based on you posts alone. 2. How do you get into jeju? Wait? Show up? There’s NEVER anything on Resy but I haven’t tried to just show up.
Also – Balthazar – the wait staff doesn’t totally care. That’s kinda the schtick. Try pastis for breakfast – and order a side of pancake. I bet it’ll rival the one you have here. I bet the have them at Balthazar too. But I’ve had it at pastis. Suuuper fluffy.
And keep it coming! Your posts are good, short, simple, and different.
Next time you are in town and want some cute and tasty desserts check out Bibble and Sip. I can’t remember if they have a chocolate one off the top of my head but all of the sweets I’ve tried there have been great.
Mah ze Dahr has the absolute best chocolate cake, if that’s what you’re looking for, you gotta try it.
Evil incarnate
Veniero’s Pasticceria & Caffe has amazing chocolate cake!
Thank you for putting captions right on the pictures, it made it much easier to go through.
The Japanese sweet potatoes from Don Angie were the best thing I ate this week, must try.
Did you eat the medium banana pudding in front of TSA as a power move?
Is Claud’s chocolate cake hyped up or something? Cant think why one go there only for that…
Super intrigued by Saint Urban. Their OpenTable indicates they can do vegetarian, so I might have to try with my husband sometime for a special occasion. We are big wine fans.
Wow, so good
Great job
the line doesn’t even take that long at L’Industrie they are pretty efficient. crazy that people would offer double.
solid hack though def gonna order ahead next time
5.9/10
I just said this today! Agree- Little Cupcake Bakeshop is better IMO
Bet TSA gobbled it up
whoa that claud cake looks nothing like when i’ve been there? either they changed it in the last month or something weird is happening
There is a post-TSA magnolia at LGA terminal B in case you’re really needing to fly some pudding somewhere and are going through LGA T.B.
You got to try Bronx too and you’ll be amazed
