    I’m not entirely sure what akami is. I don’t think I run across it or I missed it.

    Akami most days, a little chutoro and otoro from time to time. My favorite is kamatoro, but hard to find in Europe!

  3. Depends on my mood and what else I’m eating. Otoro is a meal by itself for me; it’s just really fatty. Akami if I’m eating a bunch of other stuff. Chutoro somewhere in between.

    Side note: I think otoro scraps are the best for a negitoro roll.

    I prefer to eat akami most of the time because leaner cuts/shell agree with me most at this age, but chu- is what I actually appreciate because I know how fantastic it can be

    Chutoro for sashimi and sushi.

    If it’s good it’s got the richness of otoro but less fatty. Otoro is sometimes too much.

    Chutoro is the most consistently good across all grades but Otoro has higher peaks

    Akami most of the time but chutoro if I want to splurge on the richness factor. Otoro for a rare special bite because it’s a little too rich for me, despite how much I love it.

    Chutoro is my favourite. Perfect blend of fattiness and lean meat. I can eat a few pieces without feeling sick and it also feels luxurious.

    Akami for sashimi. I can eat a pound of it! For sushi, I love otoro. Nothing like lots of wasabi on a nice fatty piece of sushi

    A few pieces of otoro is good but then it gets too oily

    I prefer chutoro over otoro, but ototoro over chutotoro.
