Second year growing carrots!! Last year was a huge flop with tiny little guys (7B Oklahoma with heavy clay soil that I hardly amended). This year I learned from some of my mistakes and focused on starting with a better soil. Grew these in grow bags and they surely benefitted from the over 25” of rain our area has gotten in April/May/June 🙃

NICE! That’s a good haul! Hope they are super tasty!

Lovely! I’m in OK too, but in 7a. Haven’t tried carrots yet, but maybe I will next year using grow bags. So far I’ve grown a handful of green beans and some herbs. My peppers and tomatoes are struggling along and not happy with our crazy weather. Hopefully your garden is doing better than mine, I got started late.

Look at that master in the foreground! Thanks for sharing your experience and you’ve inspired me to try carrots again.

Super jelly. Hope the carrots are divine. Sadly, the only thing I’ve been able to grow i Central OK has been Beans and Purple potatoes(last years harvest).

Those are some really gorgeous carrots!!! Definitely something to be proud of!!

  8. I transplanted a bunch of carrots I started inside and they still got fat like though but more like balls. Kind of like beets.

  10. These are beautiful! I genuinely thought your hair was a particularly furry rooted carrot. Whoops! Lol
