Watching this on my first day off in two weeks. Just sitting in my car at a loss of what I’m supposed to do today lol

I’m convinced suicidal thoughts are just a normal part of the day for every working person

Ah yes, Passive Suicid@l Ideation, the go-to coping strategy for all kitchen and restaurant staff.

    That and pervasive alcoholism.

  8. Damn, wild that this was me working in my first kitchen as an intern. 😅 It’s like seeing myself ten years ago, lmao.

I get irrationally irritated hearing this song on a non-Friday

    This is *wildly* accurate.

“Yeah, it’ll hurt, but I get to go home…”

Coming from another thread about Ronaldo earning 550.000 € every hour with his new contract, this hits different lol

Oh man, I worked 10 hours it was alright. My chef worked like 12-14 hours sometimes 16. I think he’s fucking mental. Clocks in at 7 with me and goes back at 8-9. But during the final weeks before my old work place was due to renovate. He worked for 16-17 straight for 1 week because our sales team did something mental and overbooked even when our supplies were low. It was a nice environment but holy shit the management were assholes.

This really is universal to the field, isn’t it?

At my last job I had a poster for the local crisis hotline, below that I had a map with directions to the bridge

I do love the irony that the next post on hot after this is the one remembering Anthony Bourdain.

  19. Take care of yourselves Chefs! I’ve known too many that have pushed themselves too hard too long who are no longer with us. The job is never worth it.
