Bought this on a whim in the supermarket earlier today because the Crémant d’Alsace was sold out. Considering how bad Prosecco’s reputation is on this subreddit, I thought it was very decent for the money.

I’m a very casual wine drinker so taste notes are to be taken with a grain of salt but I thought the bubbles, acidity and body were all pleasant.

Its flaw? Probably that it wasn’t particularly interesting, but in the price range I am content with having no drastic flaws and just a well made wine. I have had some similarly priced Cremants that are pretty bitter and the Prosecco was anything but that.

For a sub 10€ bottle there’s really nothing wrong with picking this Prosecco for some casual summer refreshment.

  2. This producer makes (well at least was several years ago, haven’t checked in a while) the most popular prosecco in all of Italy.

I think prosecco gets a bad name mainly because of La Marca but that shit is trash so I get it

  3. Was just in jesolo near Venice where a lot of prosecco is produced. Prosecco is actually quite good and really cheap in Italy. The problem is that the massive producers that are generally imported don’t represent the quality well at all.

How much did you pay for it.
For prosecco you should be on the lookout for the DOCG and not DOC, since DOCG restricts the territory where they are produced.
The “DOCG Rive” or DOCG Rive Cartizze is even better.

This prosecco is a good one though, how much you paid for it?
