Well, it’s cheap. But it’s just carbs. No fats or protein. So kinda stupid, yeah.

  2. Imposter88

Not too nutritious, but tasty, cheap, and convenient. But the spoon is pretty dumb

  3. I don’t know what it is.

However, I’m a major rice and noodle person, and I’m not asian. So for most stuff like this, I’d eat the hell out of it, and with fried eggs.

I eat some type of noodle almost every other day, and rice at least a few times a week.

Scambled eggs with noodles are awesome. Throw some onion in there, carrots, and you can go freaky and put shrimp. It’s all good.

As a Thai, I dont think i often see lunch like this here. So assuming not here. If i happen to run in to one here, i will definitely complain to person in charge… carb x carb

  5. GrapeGroundbreaking1

It would be okay with a bread roll and some mashed potatoes.

  6. Salty_Country6835

Noodles and rice? No. Thats not stupid. That’s a normal meal and dish. Look at the other posts in contrast.

  7. abbawaddadu

It’s not stupid from an Asian perspective but it’s not healthy as well. It’s just socio economics at play.

  8. SourPotatoo

I am from south east Asia. My mom would throw her sandals at you for eating noodles with rice. It’s like wearing two shirts and no pants. At least give the kid an egg!

  9. Narcodoge

It’s not disguisting or anything, but nutrition-wise it’s pretty stupid. They’re two sides which mostly consist of carbohydrates.

  10. SnooCapers938

If those noodles are well seasoned it would be ok to eat, if very carb heavy

  11. Not amazing food by the looks of it, but not stupid by a long shot

  12. hollowbolding

nah, carby lunch is king. and with egg? perfect

  13. lute0909

As somewhere from SEA, I don’t really think this is stupid considering the socio-economic situation, and also I’m not gonna be a lie that’s a lot of carbs…

  14. Velocityraptor28

ough… i feel bloated just looking at this… i mean it looks delicious, but i know im only gonna manage to get through like… a 6th of this thing at best

  15. It’s not very nutritious… lack of fat and protein and purely carbs.

  16. TeatimeForPigs

I think every area in the world has something similar. A cheap meal that fills your stomach but is not very nutritios.

In central/eastern europe it is mostly bread with some sort of spread or salame.

No. Stupid food is basically someone trying to force something to be ‘amazing’ but ends up being just dumb…. Like trying to make fried strawberries or something, and the selling it for a lot of money.

Real life example: wrapping steak in gold. That’s stupid food. Why? Does it add flavor? No. Does it add nutrition? No. Do people pay for it? Somehow, Yes.

Edit: What you’ve posted here is _real_ food. What millions of people eat every day to just get though the day. This is much more of a r/StruggleMeals than anything else. I hope you’re hanging in there.

  18. Well, the noodles look great. I would pack rice with legumes. Some dhal with rice? 🤌 Tasty, nutritious, just great.

  19. PaxedLakshmi88

Bruh that looks good af, hell naw it aint stupid.

  20. senhachijuichi

pancit canton and rice. indomie and rice. the snack of champions.

  21. Testsubject276

In my family, when there’s rice and noodles available, you pick one or the other but never both.

Usually anyways, nobody would stop me if I tried I’d imagine.

  22. SuperSocialMan

Looks fine to me. I’d eat it unless it was spicy or something.

  23. LuciferIsPlaying

I have never tried that but add some butter chicken and I am down, I dont care

  24. Is that… plain noodles and plain rice? Not even soy sauce??

  25. you forgot bread so they can wrap the noodles in it

  26. Rafael_JI06

In Brazil this is common,we always eat the lunch and dinner with rice and beans,it doesn’t matter if we’re eating another carb like pasta, lasagna, gnocchi, ramen noodles.

  27. pedaganggula

I found packed instant noodles smell nasty when they’re just opened up. I don’t know how I could deal with that when I was younger lol.

  28. babe1981

In Cambodia, I’ve had one or the other, but seldom both at once. Khmer people tend to add two different proteins, or a protein and a green vegetable, on one carb. I’ve seen Timorese people do something like this, though. The rice helps cool the spiciness of the noodles is why people do it.

  29. SquareThings

The stupid thing is the way the spoon has been put in the container. It’s gonna be all sticky with rice starch

  30. RandyRandom111

This is the equivalent of packing two slices of white bread with a hamburger bun, but literally nothing else.

  31. Brodiggitty

I mean, pasta without bread is a crime in my books. Sometimes you need some carbs with your carbs.

  32. nikhilsath

This would be a good post over at globaltalk if that’s still around

  33. haha i grew up with this, this thing slaps really hard after swimming PE

  34. nasandre

In Indonesia this is not uncommon. Especially some poorer families will add rice to everything to make it stretch.

Indomie, egg and rice is a typical lunch.

  35. rexrighteous

Tbh the stupidest thing here to me is the spoon

  36. CSretrogamer

as a “south east asia” person never had whatever this lol
