Ingredients (All in grams):
- 92g Butter
- 122g Shortening
- 131g Sugar
- 145g Brown Sugar
- 550g Flour
- 7g Baking Soda
- 7g Cornstarch
- 5g Salt
- 109g Eggs
- 10g Vanilla Extract
- 10g Vegetable Oil
Mix ins
- 250g Caramel Bites
Core
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- Caramel (make it extra gooey)
- Brown sugar
Directions:
- Cream butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil and mix.
- MIx in cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
- Slowly add flour, keep mixing until it is all incorporated.
- Fold in caramel bites, and add some gochujang sauce for that sweet heat.
- Stuff each dough ball with caramel gochujang core for that melty, gooey center.
- Chill dough balls for 1-2 hours. (We didn't this time, but we highly recommend it)
- Bake at 425°F for 10-12 minutes. (Unless you chill the dough, which will take longer)
- Let them cool for 10 minutes… then take a bite of sweet-heat-caramel bliss.

It’s unfortunate when recipes don’t include how to make certain components, like the gochujiang caramel for the core.
Even after watching the original video, there’s basically no mention of the bowl of Gochujang caramel at all, it’s just there at the beginning, and it doesn’t actually show them using it for anything… it’s like they forgot to film that part?
Edit: ironically the gif is more complete than the YouTube video, huh
