My dad bought this enormous beef inside skirt and unsure what to use it for. It says skirt but it's like a big old roast. I would have never bought this but we are stuck with it. Your community help would be appreciated!

Open the package and see if it’s just a bunch of normal skirt steaks? I got a package like this once and it had a bunch of regular skirts. Turned em into steaks sandwiches and tacos

Trim any excessive fat . You can start slicing the meat in not so thin slices .. marinate it with citrus … you can do limes or oranges , maybe a combo of both, slice a whole onion and mix it well with Lawrys garlic salt or Goya adobo that has pepper or cumin. Let that sit for about an hour and grill them. Flattop is ok too. Cut them up in cubes and possibilities are endless, tacos , nachos , burritos , even with breakfast with a side of eggs ! Enjoy

It’s probably rolled up or folded….marinate it in lime, Chile, cumin, orange juice, salt, and cayenne then grill it. 6 lbs is usually what I get for bbqs so it’s not TOO much.

Did you open the package? Sometimes they will layer a couple of pieces on top of each other.
Treat it the same you would with flap meat or outside skirt. Generally with have more fat than an outside so it will probably be better to trim it.
Inside skirt takes great to marinades and is great for grilling. Great for tacos, fajitas or Asian marinades.
The key point will be to make sure to cut against the grain to make it tender.

Carne Asada, Fajitas, Tacos. This cut benefits greatly from a marinade.

Its inside skirt – steaks, mexican stuff, pulled beef, pot roast, whatever ya want to do with it. Very versatile chuck of beef.

Yeah, if that’s skirt it’s rolled up. Marinade and cook hot and fast. Great for tacos.

Tells you right on the packaging. Put it up your skirt

That’s fajita meat. Marinate it for 24hrs. Grill and slice against the grain. Always against the grain.

Was it frozen? That date concerns me if not.

Boof it.

Defrost it? Take it out. Marinade or dry brine over night, grill on direct high heat, slice against the grain. Great for tacos, sandwiches, or as a steak.
Thin meat cooks fast and marinades can wash out the “red color” of a skirt, so don’t get mad if you’re like there’s no pink but everything else is 10/10.
