1. Beyond Sushi (vegan sushi place) – Their “crab” rangoons were crispy and satisfying and the creamy dip that went along with them was very good. We also enjoyed the spicy “crab” roll. My bf ordered a roasted eggplant roll (a special) and it was just ok. I would go again as I’m curious to try more of their meat substitutes. 3.5/5
  2. Dirt Candy – The first three courses were all super excellent. The third course, an artichoke ravioli, was my bf’s favorite thing he’d had all year. The fourth, the broccoli course, was just good. The fifth was dessert—a caesar salad inspired ice cream + sabayon + lettuce meringue dish complete with actual lettuce pieces. This was a disappointment. It wasn’t terrible but no part of it was particularly delicious (except the strawberry pieces). The ice cream didn’t seem like ice cream; it was quite icy. I think if they’d just ended this meal with a more delicious dessert rather than this salad thing, this meal would’ve been a 5/5. 4.5/5
  3. Unregular Pizza – We walked by this random place and the pizza looked very good so we tried it. The pizza was indeed very good. The crust was crispy and the sauce was a bit acidic in a good way. That’s what I remember. 4.5/5
  4. Win Son Bakery – We got the scallion pancake egg and cheese sandwiches and the custard toast. The custard toast was fine, about what I expected. I’ve had similar things before. The sauce that came with the sandwiches was very very tasty. The sandwiches themselves were good enough—the cheeses (havarti and something else) were well-selected. As expected, the sandwiches were very rich. It was difficult to eat it all. 3.5/5
  5. Musubin at smorgasburg – These were okay. 3/5
  6. Hangawi – We started with their soup of the week (sweet corn soup) and their assorted rolls. They were mostly good. Next, my bf got their crispy tofu/mushroom/asparagus + creamy sauce dish. I got the kimchi rice hot stone bowl dish. We both agreed that the crispy tofu dish was beyond excellent. I don’t know what they put in that sauce but it was very tasty. Highly recommend. The kimchi rice was super hot in the hot stone bowl and never cooled down so I felt like I couldn’t taste it super well. My fault for ordering that I guess. At the end of the meal, they gave us some surprise ice cream because it was our anniversary! How nice. 4/5
  7. Little Canal – We happened to be near this place so we figured we’d have it as our lunch. I got the hangover burrito (eggs, potatoes, cheese, tempeh bacon, chipotle mayo, avocado) and bf got the regular egg sandwich. They were good, nothing special though. 3.5/5

  3. Thanks for posting veg stuff! We had the same meal at Dirt Candy a few weeks ago, but our ice cream was super creamy and it was my favorite dish of the night. Sounds like you got a bad batch.
