NORTH AUGUSTA — French restaurant Bistro 55 in North Augusta’s Hammonds Ferry neighborhood announced its reopening under management.

A banner out front tells the news but gives no other details other than the timeline to reopen being “soon,” and neither Bistro 55’s Instagram nor its Facebook had more information. Post and Courier North Augusta sent a social media message to the business but had not heard back by deadline on June 27.

The restaurant, at 465 Railroad Ave., closed end of April this year, at the time announcing on Facebook that it would be a permanent closure while also offering the business up for a second life.

“If anyone out there feels inspired to take over the space and carry the vision forward, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us directly,” the April 22 Facebook post reads. “There’s so much love and potential in those walls, and we’d be honored to pass it on to someone who feels the same.”

Bistro 55 first opened under Maurice Cohen in October of 2023, seven months after DiVino’s Italian had closed the doors on 10 years in same space.
