This reminds me of a coworker who didn’t like cooking, but since she was the mom, she was stuck with the job.
On more than one occasion she described making a “dump cake” – just throw a bunch ingredients in a pan and pop it in the oven. Tasted -ehh. Looked like someone took a dump. Lots of other low effort recipes she would make. This is typical “white” food.
Please, please, PLEASE. Have some respect for yourself, the people you feed, and the ingredients you use.
Maybe it’s judging a book by its cover, if this is the way you cook, it tells me a lot about you as a person – unserious, uncurious…
We don’t have to cook by trial and error – let the trial and error be trying different recipes and seeing if you like the results – you can always tweak them to your liking. This is just ignoring the health and safety of your family and guests.

I admit I have no idea how crayfish are enjoyed, what part of it you eat etc. I have never tried eating them as I just assumed I’m allergic because I have prawn and shrimp shellfish allergy. But I imagine if you don’t kill them beforehand to remove the parts you don’t eat, all the bad stuff goes into your pot.
