Cheeses: Yellow cheddar and white sharp cheddar
Also had some tomato basil soup-canned Progresso, nothing fancy-and dipped the sandwich in it a few times, holy shit that was good

Replace the cheese with smoked cheddar and that might be the best grilled cheese I’ll ever taste

A “flattop grill” is an old-timey term for what I would call a griddle (or just a flattop in a restaurant).
It’s funny how the term changed, and puzzled grilled cheese lovers for generations.
