I’ve posted before about their cider, naming it and Migliorelli’s as my favorite ciders from the Union Square Greenmarket. On Friday I noticed that they had apple *juice* out and I had to try some. Holy shit. You’d swear it had honey, but it’s just apples. I don’t know if that means honeycrisp, but I’ve never had a honeycrisp apple that tasted anything like this. Go get a box and see for yourself. I can see how it might be too sweet for some folks; this isn’t something you chug like Gatorade, you savor it like a fine wine, IMO. If I didn’t know better, I’d say that Walter White and Gale Boetticher were making this alongside Gale’s coffee in their meth lab.
Here’s their NYC market schedule, from their website:
Wednesday
NYC | Dag Plaza | 47th St & 2nd Ave | 8am-3pm
Thursday
NYC | Columbia University | 114th St & Broadway | 8am-3pm
Friday
NYC | Union Square | 17th St & Broadway | 8am-4pm
Saturday
NYC | Inwood Hill | Isham St (211th) between Seamen & Cooper | 8am-3pm
NYC | 82nd St | Between 1st & York Ave | 9am-2pm
Sunday
NYC | Columbia University | 114th St & Broadway | 8am-4pm
NYC | Tompkins Square | Avenue A and East 7th Street | 9am-3pm
If you happen to be traveling upstate in the Fall, they have a lovely pick-your-own operation as well. The donuts are not great though, so my go-to is to grab apples etc and juice at Samascott, then head down the road to Golden Harvest for donuts, bbq food, and vodka, brandy, etc. made from the apples.
At that point you might as well just spend the weekend in Kinderhook and get a tasty snack of beer, cheeses, and sandwiches at Saisonnier.
I don’t work for the Kinderhook Chamber of Commerce, but I sure could.

Upstate closer to the farm, they sell fruit pies which are some of the best I’ve ever had as well… samascot might be the best in the entire state all things considered.

Samascott recently had a fire on site and they’re struggling even more than usual for a small business, so they’re my go-to for farmer’s market apples rn and they should be yours.

They have a good sparkling apple cider (non alcoholic), too! And the workers are so nice at the Tompkins square market, we go there weekly

A quick note if you want hard cider – [Nine Pin hard cider](https://www.ninepincider.com/our-story/) is made from Samascott Orchards apples as well.
