I’m in shock. A frikkin robot coupe is now on my kitchen counter at home and I can only cook so much for myself and my wife. I haven’t been in the industry in years but I know that this is a big deal.

Everything is working fine except for the top. The issue is that the lid won’t twist off. As if it’s locked. Any idea how much this would cost to fix?

You can probably buy replacement bowl for it

Preliminary ‘put the bottom in hot water and ice in the top’.

But really flip the whole top upside down in some hot water. I’d be willing to bet it’s seized from sugars.

I feel like I could get it loose with some tinkering. Likely someone put the lid on the wrong way and it stuck due to that. That or see if that’s spring loaded locking mechanism is photo 2.

Worst case you could buy another bowl but keep in mind that you want to pay attention to the model number on the front. Keep the blade inside if you replace the bowl as those are sold separate

Use a screwdriver to realign the pin in the bottom of the handle. It should drop and release the lid if the spring is still intact. If you can disassemble the handle cover, it might be easier.

No it can’t please send it to me for quick disposal.

Seriously I would just jiggle the lock mechanism a bit. I am guessing the rod is supposed to drop down into the machine base..

  6. I’m with ForeverUnhinged on this one. That metal safety rod, shown in pic 2 (I googled the assembly schematic 😁) seems to be stuck in the up position, keeping the plastic lid from turning left and unlocking.

Soak it with warm water and some degreaser and try to finagle that rod holding the lid in the “on” position. The metal post (the safety rod) should freely slide up and down. It probably just got corroded and stuck. You could maybe even give it a shot of wd-40 to ungum it, then wash it thoroughly.

Lucky. Reminds me of the guy that posted in r/chefit asking what the hell he found left behind in his new apartment. It was a $1200 robot coupe setup.

  8. A toothpick and a prayer should fix that right up

Goals. Got addicted to using those in the workplace but now I have my own business and those are a hard spend.

Your wife is wonderful. An un matched pair won’t work, but the bowl an cap is worth half as much as the machine, so you should be able to get what you need.

  11. What does that thing do? Is it something like a comercial nicer dicer or a thermomix?

A blixer too. They’re the good ones. They don’t burn out.

You can also probably close the circuit by sliding a knife blade in there. You didn’t hear that from me tho if something goes awry. New bowl is probably $250.

Anyhow you have the motor that’s the $$$$ part. Find you some accessories used online and get busy edit typo

Get some food grade lubricant and starting jamming shit in there till it pops out or buy a used bowl off eBay not hard to find part numbers for those just make sure you get the right one

Could run it through your home dishwasher to heat it up real good might loosen up some grease buildup

Glad you got that fixed. When I had a cafe and bought a LOT of used equipment, I found that partswarehouse dot com was my friend.

I’m retired, have no stake in the company, but it was a lifesaver on more than one occasion.

I want one too!! Please tell your wife -I’m next 😋 !! We got one in the Bakery at work but it’s the Kitchen’s leftover –so , of course, the metal bar connection piece was broken. So you had to keep up with the metal bar that makes the connection. I asked our Hobart man if he could fix with glue or something & he looked at it for me. Figured it couldn’t hurt…so he went to look in his work truck & didn’t have what he needed. So, he came back and told me he needed to take it with him. I thought great …I probably won’t see it til probably til August. But he actually brought it back the next day and told me it took only a short time to fix it. I said you mean to tell me have to literally keep up with the piece for over 10 + years & you could have fix it -ugh!! *in a day. But if I could take it home w/o the University or my work place noticing– I sure in the Hell would. Our Sous Chef didn’t even realize we had one…said she just never noticed it-she’d been there over 3 yrs at location on campus. So glad you got yours fixed- very jealous! Your wife is a definite keeper!
