La Inglesa, relatively new winemaker in Montilla-Moriles. This people started their project in 2017 to try and rescue old soleras from the region and put them in value.

Absolutely stunning amontillado, unlike the sherries that are made not far away from there, there’s no fortification here, wine gets naturally till the 15ABV where the flower veil dies and then, starts oxidizing the wine ’till the 18ABV. What you get here is a festival full of almonds, roasted nuts, old almost rancid honey and a beautiful stunning salinity, with this wines you do understand why people back in the day used this kind of wines as a perfume and even aftershave. It’s extra-expressive, aromatic, deep, captivating, feels old yet crisps, alcohol is integrated and the oxidative notes are everywhere.

    What an experience.
