Hot take: I think peameal bacon sandwiches are overrated

I prefer the breakfast over the straight peameal, with hot sauce, sometimes mustard too.
The title isn’t clear, is the place done or just the OGs leaving?

I worked here for several years in high school a couple of decades ago. I once watched Maurice catch a pigeon midflight, snap its neck and toss it into a trash can in a single motion. Wild shit.

Toronto is an amazing food city full of world class delights, peameal bacon sandwich at St Lawrence market is not one of them.

Honey Mustard + White Onions + Marmalade is the absolute way to go

Oh man, my Mom served these as a job one summer, we would go down and get free lunch.

“Perfected”, LOL. Meanwhile by the entrance in the same aisle, Paddington’s Pump Peameal Sandwiches are far superior to this place.
Don’t know who Carousel bent over for to get this “celebrity reputation”, but everyone local in the know goes to Paddington’s instead if they want a peameal sandwich.

When is it leaving?

I have to be honest. I get the nostalgia and the tourist angle but this sandwich is so painfully mid. I simply don’t hear of many people getting it multiple times with all the other options in the market.
