We got a tray of Sam’s fruit tarts and the label says 40 calories each 👀 I googled it because that sounds insane but online it’s listed as 40 calories as well

50g sounds pretty small. I believe it

Berries, and it is stacked with caution to make it look bigger than it is. Rather neat trick!

I’m smashing that whole container if it’s just 240cals for the whole thing

I’m always shocked to read serving sizes on frozen berry packaging. They’re always like 2 servings per small bag or 4 in a big one! I don’t know who can eat that many berries without it causing digestive issues, but wish I could be one!!!

Even with 50g just the flour seems unrealistic I may need to see the full ingredients list and ask ChatGPT

1 tart is 40, so all 6 is 240cal. Doesn’t seem weird to me

What’s under the berries? I tend to be very skeptical about nutrition facts because they seem really random where I live. Usually tart dough is buttery, so idk. The standard might be completely different in the US (I assume judging by the label you’ve posted ?)

I bought mini angel food cake shells at Albertson and they were 60 cal. They were the size of my palm.
A couple berries and some cool whip would be 120ish. These look tiny, so its def possible.

It’s berries. Berries have very little calories much like vegetables. An entire container at Walmart of strawberries is like 200 cals lol

I’m really curious about these. Their app says the whole package is 23 oz (652 grams) but if each one is 50 grams and there are 6 it should be 300 grams (10.6 oz) I’m definitely going to check these out next time I’m there.

You can check! I would weigh the berries by themselves and weigh the shell case with the custard and then wipe out the custard and weigh just the shell case. That gives you the weight of the three parts. The crust shell will be the most calorific probably as it will be pretty much all carbs without any water. If it’s all carbs (which it isn’t: there’s butter in the ingredients), it’s 4 calories per gram. The custard is some mega-processed stabilized pudding. I’d use the nutrition facts for the lowest cal vanilla pudding you can find as the absolute minimum (and find the highest cal pudding for a good range of possibilities). The fruit is just berries and you can find the cals for that. Report back if you measure it all to be correct! My guess is the 50g tart is 30g fruit, 10g pudding, and 10g shell so will be more like 90 calories per tart.

Tartes are low sugar compared to pie. And strawberries and blueberries are some of lowest calorie fruits. These also don’t appear to have a glaze. Assuming that’s an average size strawberry and not one of the ones the size of my fist, 40 calories sounds right.

I’m having a tough time believing this given the fact that a very similar sized (70g) tart from Whole Foods is 160 calories, I attached the nutritional information pulled directly from the app, id suggest comparing ingredients, not sure how different the SC version is but visually they are incredibly similar
