🍕 Homemade Lahmacun (Turkish Flatbread with Spiced Meat Topping)
Ingredients:
For the Dough:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm water
1 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
For the Topping:
250g (about 1/2 lb) ground lamb or beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 medium tomato, grated or finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped parsley
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions:
🥣 1. Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, mix the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until it becomes foamy.
Add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough for about 8–10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
🍖 2. Prepare the Topping:
In a bowl, combine the ground meat, onion, tomato, pepper, garlic, tomato paste, parsley, and all the spices.
Add olive oil and mix everything well until you get a paste-like mixture.
🍽️ 3. Assemble and Cook:
Preheat your oven to 250°C (480°F) or the highest temperature possible.
Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces and roll each one out into a thin round or oval shape.
Spread a thin layer of the meat mixture evenly over each dough.
Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until the edges are crispy and the topping is cooked.

Serve hot with fresh lemon wedges, parsley, sumac onions, or a side of salad. You can roll them up or fold them and enjoy!

You can findolive oil in home only, no restaurant use olive oil in it. Just the cheapest seed oil 😅
