While I was de-hornworming my tomato plants I found my first tomatillo! The bees have been pollinating like crazy so I was hoping I’d get something soon.

Tomatillos are so different. The husk grows bigger and the fruit slowly fills in space.

Yay!! Once mine started – they didn’t stop! Lesson learned from last year only getting one plant 🤦🏽♀️😊 if you’ve got a good recipe/ideas to make with them that you’re willing to share – I wouldn’t mind 😉

I grew some for the first time last year. They grow soooo fast. They get really tall and bushy…but no flowers. You think you’re doing something wrong, but before you know it, you have hundreds of green air balloons all over the plant 🤣. I had 3 plants and I still have bags of tomatillos in my freezer 🤣

What’s the rule of thumb for harvesting tomatillos? Do they look a certain way or does the outer paper part get dry?
