Went to a nice restaurant and had the best steak of my life (so far)
Asked for medium rare on my filet and I think they got it dead on, what do you guys think?

Not a fan at all of drowning a steak in butter but yes it looks properly cooked. When they slather it with butter like that it’s usually a sign that they are serving you a lower end cut of meat, like choice instead of prime, and are covering up the lack of marbling with a lot of additional fat. But as you said you can always choose to remove it.
