Pic of my first cookie I decorated and is my favorite

I’m about to start culinary and pastry school i know it’s not needed but the va is paying for me to go and I love cooking and baking. My flavors are there but my decorating definitely needs work. My neighbors are offering to pay for my cookies and I’m only charging for ingredients as it will help me practice and I’m not wasting food.
Anyway I want to eventually open an in home bakery when I get really good and I want to know where you get the perfect sized cookie cutters? I feel like mine are on the smaller side but they are from hobby lobby 😂

Cute design! I used to buy all of my cutters on Amazon but my husband bought me a 3D printer last year for my birthday so now I just make my own. My “normal” sizes are 3.5-4” on the longest side. Sometimes larger depending on the specific design but that’s the normal range

So many good places on Etsy- BobbisCutters, the Floured Canvas, are a couple I have personally used. Check your city for an independent baking supply shop.

Etsy! I use Kaleidacuts, Mike’s Cookie Cutters, and The Cookiery.CA among others

  4. The average size is 3.5″-4″. My rule is if it’s a roundish shape I do 3.5, if it’s a long/rectangularish shape I do 4″.
Go on Etsy and search for the shape/design you are looking for. You will find tons of options and maybe a specific store that appeals to you. Some of my favorite shops are: Cookie Cutters by Nori, Kaleidacuts, Mike’s Cookie Cutters. Nori is my current go to as she ships super quick and makes custom cutters for me whenever I ask. She has her standalone website and you can use promo/coupon codes, free shipping after a specific limit. And she also sends a free cutter/stencil if you spend a specific amount.

soooooooooooooooo I trace them on parchment paper and cut them by hand hahaha. time consuming, I know, but it’s a lot cheaper! I do bake as a side job, so at this point in time I don’t see it feasible to spend too much on cutters if I can make them myself! I do have about 40 or so I bought from walmart, Michaels and Hobby Lobby. between 3-4in is ideal for me as far as size comes
