Don’t worry, the one that popped up out of nowhere on Vanderbilt is still open

“Do not remove.” Good thing that had it at the bottom of the notice

I’ve judged the people waiting in line at the BK location, as that line can be insane. But then I went in on like a Thursday morning, no wait, sat down and had their vegetarian breakfast sandwich. Honestly it is amazing. I go during the week now. Kind of expensive but I love it.

Honestly, they’ve been annoying about their line management since they moved into the area. I miss the little Central European place that used to be in that spot.

Their griddle cakes taste good but they use super low quality oil for cooking everything on the menu, including the griddle cakes :/ why bother touting local eggs if you’re using oil w TBHQ and dimethylpolysiloxane 🤢 I took a pic of their cooking oil in plain view on the floor in front of their bathroom and verified w the kitchen they use it for every dish. Everything on the menu is cooked with it and you can’t avoid it. I’d post a pic here but can’t, anyone who wants to see it, feel free to dm

Edit: why the downvotes? There’s absolutely NO reason those things should be in cooking oil, esp in a busy restaurant that brags about using local eggs. From their website: “Salt’s Cure was a pioneer in the farm to table movement, first recognized for its commitment to high quality local ingredients…” “Fresh, high quality ingredients and food made with love are the heart and soul of everything we do.” 🙄

TBHQ and dimethylpolysiloxane are preservatives and antifoaming agents, respectively. Just the cheapest crap they could buy. Their website statement is so misleading

That’s like one of the only actually shitty meals I’ve had out in New York. I don’t understand why it’s popular.

I am convinced it is a report from this older woman who walks her dog and yells at employees because of the long line on weekends. I absolutely love this place and frequent it once a week. It is $10 for pancakes that I don’t feel too heavy eating after. I always found them clean and sad to this happened to a local spot. Highly recommend going to their Vanderbilt and Carroll Gardens location.
